Select the numbered steps below to learn more about it. Please note: Pay attention to the messages displayed on the display and on the touchscreen. If the series acquisition is interrupted, the whole sequence must be started again from the beginning. 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 4 4 4 5 5 5 6 6 6 SmartOrtho Workflow Steps [Audio file name: audf_llm_smartortho_wf_olt_wf_steps.mp3] In this chapter, we will guide you through the SmartOrtho workflow. Select the numbered steps below to learn more about it. Please note: Pay attention to the messages displayed on the display and on the touchscreen. If the series acquisition is interrupted, the whole sequence must be started again from the beginning. Performing SmartOrtho Imaging Make sure the… Correct organ program is selected. Units and the patient are correctly positioned. Ortho acquisition range (ROI) has been defined. Start and end positions are correctly set. TOD and the acquisition parameters are correctly set. Press the acquisition push-button half (pre-contact) and hold it in that position. The system moves to the first acquisition position. Instruct the patient to keep still. Press the acquisition push-button fully down and hold it pressed until all the acquisitions are finished. Depending on the configuration: The first position is acquired and displayed. The system moves to the next acquisition position. The next position is acquired and displayed, and so on. After all exposures are done, the acquired images are automatically stitched together and displayed in Composing. 6 Checking / Changing Parameters for all Acquisition Positions For checking or changing parameters of all acquisition positions, proceed as follows: 5 Review / modify all the relevant acquisition parameters If the same acquisition parameters shall be applied for the second or further acquisi-tions of the Ortho series: Select each Ortho Step position Click the STOP regulation icon if necessary Regulation stop for exposure control is applied for further images. All related generator controls are blocked, i.e. kV, mAs, ms, Dose, Focus, tube load, and measuring fields. Adjusting the Ortho ROI Proceed as follows in the examination room: To use the laser line light localizer for setting the image area, ask the patient to close their eyes, check that they are closed and turn on the light localizer. Align the laser line on the upper edge of the Region of Interest (ROI) by tilting (or moving in case of a standing patient) the X-ray tube to the upper start position. Press this button on the MAXtouch. The position is stored and the button is marked by a check mark. Align the laser line on the lower edge of the ROI by tilting (or moving in case of a standing patient) the X-ray tube unit to the lower end position. Press this button on the MAXtouch. The position is stored and the button is marked by a check mark. Turn off the laser light. Collimate the width to the desired ROI. Collimation in height will be adjusted automatically. Check collimation and measuring fields. 4 Changing / Entering the TOD For later measurements and correct composition of Ortho images, it is required to enter the correct TOD (Table-Object Distance), i.e. tabletop / detector to object plane distance. After selecting an Ortho organ program, the TOD defined in this organ program is displayed. Measure the TOD using a ruler. - or - Measure the SOD (Source-Object Distance) using the tape measure available at the collimator front. Select the correct TOD on the MAXtouch. A sound indicates that the value has been registered. - or - Select / enter the correct TOD on the monitor in the control room. Please note: If you change the SID (Source-to-Image Distance) or TOD in postprocessing, make sure to enter the same value for all the images of the Ortho series. If SID and TOD are not equal for all the images of an Ortho series, Composing is not possible. 3 Positioning the Patient 2 Positioning on patient table Position the patient lying on the table. Position the calibration device (sphere, ruler) in diagnostic relevant area, or measure the TOD (Table-Object Distance) and enter it manually. Positioning on SmartOrtho stand Place the SmartOrtho stand in front of the BWS leaving sufficient space for detector movement. Position the patient with their back to the SmartOrtho stand and their hands folded over their head, or with their hands holding the attached hand grips. Position the calibration device (sphere, ruler) in a diagnostic relevant area, or measure the TOD and enter it manually. Please note: The detector unit must be in the 0° position. Check that the detector tray does not grind on the semi-transparent stripes of the relevant area. Preparing SmartOrtho You can perform the setup via FLUOROSPOT Compact display in the control room, TUI on the system remote control console, or via MAXtouch on the optional ceiling-supended X-ray tube. If necessary, you can perform fluoroscopy. Make sure… An Ortho organ program is selected. The collimator is in the 0° lock position. The SmartMove LED button is blinking.
