Consequences of engaging the emergency STOP button: all unit drives will be switched off and all movements as well as radiation will be interrupted. decompression is not performed automatically. To release the patient you must decompress the breast manually by performing the emergency release. Recovery of the system:  when you have clearly detected the cause of danger and rectified it you can reset the emergency STOP button by turning it clockwise. after you release the emergency STOP button, error messages might be displayed on the screen. Please confirm them and proceed.   Learn how to perform an emergency release. Learn how to perform an emergency release. Checklist TitleChecklist TypeChecklist ContentStep 1HTML Forcefully press the emergency release button (1) with one hand, and keep the button pressed. It is located on the top of compression unit. Step 2HTML Place the other hand under the compression plate (2) and press it upward. The patient can be removed from the system. Step 3HTML First remove the hand from the emergency release button, and then remove the hand from the compression plate. Ensure the compression plate does not fall on the detector. Step 4HTML The system is automatically reset upon pressing the emergency release button. Confirm the error message on the AWS monitor.   The operation keys are located on both sides of the swivel arm and the compression unit. Their function is identical. Use the operation keys for height adjustment and angulation adjustment. Single touch button: press briefly to move the swivel arm to the preset angle position for the next projection view. press the button slightly longer to transfer the adapted angulation to the opposite site. Field light button: press the field light button to turn the field light on. the field light will turn on automatically when you activate the compression pedal of the foot switch.   Learn about the operation keys. Use the face shield appropriate to the examination.       face shield for standard examination face shield for tomosynthesis face shield for biopsy The compression plate is mounted in front of the compression unit. The plastic trays can be removed from the holder to simplify cleaning. There are different compression plates available for different examination purposes. Use the compression plate appropriate to the examination. Please note: the collimator automatically adjusts the radiation field size to the size of the compression plate. select the size of the compression plate as small as possible for optimum exposure and lowest possible radiation exposure. Learn how to mount/remove the compression plate. Learn how to mount and remove the compression plate.   The compression control knobs are located on both sides of the compression unit. Compression and decompression are driven by a motor. You can adjust the compression and decompression of the breast manually with the control knobs: turn the knob downward to compress the breast manually. turn the knob upward to decompress the breast manually.   You can perform the following actions with the two mirror-inverted foot switches: control motorized compression and decompression. adjust the height of the swivel arm. Recommendation for the placement of the foot switches: place one foot switch on each side of the X-ray stand. position the foot switches so that the pedals for compression point to the center in each case. The stand display is located at the base of the X-ray stand. It provides the following information: Current projection angle Thickness of the compressed object Current compression force expressed in Newtons Patient name Please note:  the (P) next to the compression force shows that all table movements (height and rotation adjustment) are blocked due to a compression force of 30 N or more. When using OPCOMP: The force indicator flashes, when optimum compression is attained.Patient nameBlocked movements: As soon as (P) is displayed, all table movements are blocked. The rotation and height adjustment are always blocked when the compression force is around 30 N or more.   The control box is part of the acquisition workstation (AWS). Press the button to release the exposure and hold it down until the acoustic signal ends. Please note: The operating staff always must be located behind the radiation shield when releasing radiation with the hand switch. Foot switch You can also release radiation with the foot switch (option).  The foot switch is plugged into the control box.  Press the foot switch pedal for radiation relase and keep it pressed during the exposure.  Please note:  Operating staff must be located behind the radiation shield when releasing radiation with the foot switch.  The flat-panel detector (FD) object table is located in the front of the compression unit. The detector in the object table is 24 x 30 cm. Please note: external influences as temperature fluctuations, humidity, or vibrations can change the settings of the detector. Therefore, you should calibrate the detector  every three months if the constant room temperature deviates by more than 7°C from the temperature at the last calibration Learn about the magnification table. Learn about the magnification table. The magnification tables (options) are used for magnification exposures. They are available for the factors 1.5 and 1.8. The system automatically recognizes whether a magnification table is installed or not. Please note: The face shield must be removed when using the magnification table, except when using the spot compression plate. Use a compression plate appropriate to the examination, for example the magnification compression plate 16 x 20 cm.  Only one factor (either 1.5 or 1.8) can be active on the system. The acquisition workstation (AWS) consists of the following components: Workstation with CD-R/DVD-R drive TFT monitor Control box Mouse Keyboard (on keyboard shelf) Operation console (option) with radiation shield (option) Please note that the learning material is for training purposes only!
