Patient Applications Transfer Edit View Filter Sort Private Applications Options Help gz ?  Slice Thickness – Use for making adjustments to the slice thickness. o Thicker slice gives a better overall image. o Thinner slice is used for fine details.  Metal Artefact Reduction – Lessens the effect of high density object interference (i.e. metal implants). o Defaults to “Off” If there is metal in the image, Select “On” for the body part examined. o Options for Extremity, Head, & Trunk  IO Correction – should remain on MapBased and not be adjusted.  Reco Kernel – controls the sharpness of the recon- structed images. Four options customized to image quality preferences o Default – neutral look o Smooth – moderate noise reduction o Very Smooth – high level noise reduction Siemens Healthineers Services Page 3 of 5 Workstation Key Terms Job Aid | Multitom Rax Effective Date: 02/02/2018 HOOD05162002812049 o Bone – sharper images. Improved visibility of bony structures. Increased image noise.  Reco Option – should remain on default and not be adjusted.  Voxel – represents a point in a three dimensional space (512X512X512 voxels). Also known as a 3 dimensional pixel. o Default of “0.5mm” represents a reconstruction that covers the entire field of view. o For High resolution images, reduce voxel size. o Smaller voxel size results in a smaller field of view.
