It offers excellent value for the money and makes access to high‐quality imaging technology much easier. The intuitive operating system and modern wireless detectors in the MULTIX Impact optimize Doe Jane clinical processes in radiography by improving both productivity and the patient experience. --- 2 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Patient positioning aid SIEMENS Healthineers The patient positioning aid focuses on the MULTIX Impact variant with elevating table and medium‐size rail for the tube stand. The rail allows you to perform examinations with a minimum source‐image distance (SID) of 115 cm SIEMENS and a maximum SID of 265 cm on the Bucky wall stand (BWS). The rail has detents at SIDs of 115 cm, 150 cm, and 180 cm toward the BWS for easier positioning of the system. At a SID of 115 cm, the tube follows the BWS down to a central beam height of 31.5 cm above the floor when the table is in its lowest position (51.5 cm) and the table top is moved all the way to the side. For SIDs larger than 115 cm, the tube is above the table and can track down to 54 cm. With the table in its lowest position, tracking goes to 98 cm central beam height above the floor. 3 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Table of contents SIEMENS Healthineers • Lateral projections 5 • Wheelchair thorax AP 7 • Abdomen upright 8 MULTIX Impact • Hip axial (Sven Johannson) Variant A 9 • Hip axial (Sven Johannson) Variant B 11 • Knee PA standing 13 • Patella axial 14 • Foot DP weight‐bearing 16 Healthingers> • Foot LAT weight‐bearing 17 • Long‐leg and full‐spine upright 18 • Long‐leg and full‐spine supine 19 4 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Lateral projections SIEMENS Healthineers Lateral projections on the table A lateral projection is necessary for some examinations requiring a recumbent position, which means that the tube needs to be angled so that the beam is in a coronal plane. For these kinds of examinations, you can either use a mobile detector holder, as shown in the picture, or a lateral detector holder that can be mounted to the edge of the table. SIEMENS 5 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Lateral projections SIEMENS Healthineers Lateral projections on the Bucky wall stand You can perform a lateral projection on the BWS at a SID of 115 cm. If the distance is greater than 115 cm, you need to be aware of the collision zone with the table top. This projection is used, for example, for weight‐bearing and non‐ weight‐bearing examinations of the foot (SID MULTIX Impact 115 cm) with the tube angled at 90 degrees. If there is a mobile patient bed available, all recumbent patients can be examined using the Bucky wall stand for lateral projections. 6 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Wheelchair thorax AP SIEMENS Healthineers Examination This examination is performed with the patient seated in a wheelchair in an upright position. Place the detector behind the patient and make sure that it’s well‐positioned between the wheelchair and the patient. Hints With wheelchairs that are made of radiolucent material, this examination can also be performed with the wheelchair backed up to the BWS. SIEMENS Healthineers 7 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Abdomen upright SIEMENS Healthineers Examination This examination is performed with the patient in an upright position facing the BWS. Place the detector in either landscape or portrait orientation, depending on the patient’s anatomy. For easier system positioning, the tube‐column has detents at SIDs of 150 cm and 180 cm. MULTIX Impact Hints Move the table to its lowest position and the table top all the way to the side. While tracking the table top can go down to 54 cm, which equals a central beam height of 98 cm above the floor. For small and pediatric patients, we HealTHEMENS recommend using a step for proper positioning. 8 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Hip axial (Sven Johannson) – Variant A SIEMENS Healthineers Examination This examination is performed with the patient in supine position on the table. The table top needs to be moved away from the tube stand to the farthest possible position. Rotate the tube to an rotated vertical angulation (RVA) of 30 degrees and the patient away from the longitudinal axial of the table. Using a mobile detector holder, adjust the angle of the detector to align the X‐ray perpendicular to it. MULTIX Impact With this variant, the examination can be performed with an RVA of up to 30 degrees 9 and a maximum SID of 124 cm. Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Hip axial (Sven Johannson) – Variant A SIEMENS Healthineers Hints Pay attention to the laterality. For the right hip, the patient should be positioned with the left side close to the tube stand, and vice versa for the left hip. For system variants without a table, use a mobile patient bed or stretcher. Use a positioning aid to keep the patient’s angulated leg in a comfortable position. MULTIX Impact With this variant, the examination can be performed with an RVA of up to 30 degrees 10 and a maximum SID of 124 cm. Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Hip axial (Sven Johannson) – Variant B SIEMENS Healthineers Examination This examination is performed with the patient in a supine position on a mobile patient bed in front of the BWS. Rotate the bed instead of angulating the tube. MULTIX Impact With this variant, the examination can be performed with an RVA of up to 45 degrees 11 and a SID of 115‐150 cm. Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Hip axial (Sven Johannson) – Variant B SIEMENS Healthineers Hints Pay attention to the laterality. For the right hip, the patient should be positioned with the left side close to the tube stand, and vice versa for the left hip. Use a positioning aid to keep the patient’s angulated leg in a comfortable position. With this variant, the examination can be performed with an RVA of up to 45 degrees 12 and a SID of 115‐150 cm. Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Knee PA weight‐bearing SIEMENS Healthineers Examination This examination is performed with the patient facing the BWS in an upright position for a PA projection. Height‐tracking for the tube and BWS can be activated by pressing the appropriate button on the side of the BWS. Hints Move the table to its lowest position and the table top all the way to the side. At a SID of 115 cm, the tube follows the BWS down to a central beam height of 31.5 cm above the floor. For small and pediatric patients, we recommend MULTIX Impact using a step for proper positioning. 13 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Patella axial SIEMENS Healthineers Examination This examination is performed with the patient in a supine position on the table. You can either use a mobile detector holder or the patient can hold the detector. The tube can be angulated according to Country/Region specifications. ..... Car ... Another option is to perform the examination on the table with the patient in a prone position. MULTIX Impact 14 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2021 Patella axial SIEMENS Healthineers Hints Move the table to end‐position so that it’s as far away from the tube as possible. Position the patient near end of the table so that the tube can be angled if necessary. +.
