Welcome to the nexaris Angio-CT Collision Control Online Training course. This course will discuss: How the collision control computer continuously monitors the position of the Artis C-arm and CT gantry How parking positions affect the system operation modes   Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to: Summarize collision control mechanisms for the nexaris Angio-CT Locate different working and parking zones for the systems Explain how to resume movement after a detected collision Describe conditions for the system movements Congratulations. You have completed the nexaris Angio-CT Collision Control Online Training. Take some time to review the course summary material before proceeding to the final assessment. Describe conditions for the system movements Movements of the CT and Artis systems are restricted or stopped when in closed vicinity Movements are stopped at approximately 12 cm distance between systems If automatic movement of the CT is stopped due to detected collision, the CT Sliding Gantry needs to be reset to continue the procedure Movement Conditions for Artis C-arm Operates at Normal Speed if the CT System is in park or the distance between the Artis C-arm and the CT Sliding Gantry is more than 50 cm Operates at a Reduced Speed if the distance between the Artis C-arm and the CT Sliding Gantry is between 50 cm and approximately 12 cm Movement Conditions for CT Sliding Gantry Moves automatically during scans if the Artis C-arm is in park Manual movement required with respective move key if the distance between the Artis C-arm and CT Sliding Gantry is approximately 12 cm Summarize collision control mechanisms for the nexaris Angio-CT Collision Computing – monitors the positions of all integrated components of the system and detects when defined distances are violated Collision Sensors – system is equipped with sensors on the input of the flat detector, primary collimator, cover of the c-ray tube assembly, two switching bars on both sides of the C-arm, and table detecting the lifting of the tabletop Warning Messages – Artis collision control can stop/block the SGCT Artis collision control can also block automated movement of the SGCT but manual movement remains possible Explain how to resume movement after a detected collision Case 1 – If you have released the operating element unintentionally, you can resume the movement at any time by operating the operating element again Case 2 – If an end position has been reached, you can only initiate movement in the opposite direction by deflecting the operating element in a different direction Case 3 – If stopping at a basic position has been programmed, you can resume the movement by releasing the operating element and operating it again Case 4 – If a collision occurred and the collision sensor responded, you can initiate a movement  and override the collision by pressing buttons I and II simultaneously and operating the operating element in a different direction. The message "Collision control deactivated" appears Locate different working and parking zones for the systems Artis system is in its park zone when the C-arm is next to the table based as configured during installation Position can be stored as a program position for automatic movements of the Artis system CT Sliding Gantry is in its park position when the yellow system status lamp turns off as the CT Sliding Gantry is moved away from the patient table The closer the CT Sliding Gantry is in relation to the Artis C-arm, the more the C-arm movements are restricted or locked Select the link to review/print the downloadable course review material. Configurable Artis - working/parking area The system is equipped with various collision sensors on the: Input of the flat detector Primary collimator Cover of the X-ray tube assembly Two switching bars on both sides of the C-arm Table detecting the lifting of the tabletop  The Artis collision computer continuously monitors the position of the C-arm and CT Gantry – depending on their proximity a reduced speed of C-arm or a stop is invoked CAUTION! Movements of CT and Artis systems are restricted or stopped when in close vicinity. Movements will be stopped at approximately 12 cm When an automatic movement of the CT is stopped due to a detected collision, the CT Sliding Gantry needs a reset to continue the procedure A popup window on the CT Console appears to reset the CT Sliding Gantry Press Continue to initiate the Gantry reset   System Movement Conditions Learn about system movement conditions.   System Conditions Movement Artis C-arm CT system is in park or Distance between the Artis C-arm and the CT sliding gantry is more than 50 cm Normal Speed Distance between the Artis C-arm and the CT Sliding Gantry is between 50 cm and approximately 12 cm Reduced Speed CT Sliding Gantry Distance between Artis C-arm and the CT Sliding Gantry is approximately 12 cm Manual with the respective move key Artis C-arm is in park zone Automatic during scans Collision Computing Learn about collision computing. Element HTML To keep the probability of a collision to a minimum, a collision computer continuously monitors the positions of all integrated components of the system. The collision computer: Detects when defined distances are violated and reduces the movement speed and triggers an audible signal Monitors the patient table, stands, floor walls, and ceiling/rails as well as a half cylinder shaped safety zone around the patient   Sound File Audio ScriptTo keep the probability of a collision to a minimum, a collision computer continuously monitors the positions of all integrated components of the systems with respect to one another in the room. The collision computer is calibrated to fit a standard patient size. A warning will appear if the patient is bigger than the normal patient. The Artis system knows where the CT scanner is so that the collision computer is able to sense as the table nears the CT scanner. The collision computer detects when defined distances are violated. In such a case, it reduces the movement speed and triggers an audible signal. The collision computer monitors the patient table, stands, floor walls, and ceiling rails, as well as a half cylinder shaped safety zone around the patient. The message Collision with CT will be displayed if a collision is detected. The image on the bottom right illustrates an example of a calculated collision area around the patient. If the CT Sliding Gantry (SGCT) is in the Artis room: An emergency stop at the Artis also causes an emergency stop at the SGCT Cancelling of the Artis emergency stop is only possible after the emergency stop is deactivated at the CT console Both systems then need to be reset separately (Artis first, then SGCT) An emergency stop from the SGCT causes a Quick Stop at the Artis Quick Stop stops the movements of the Artis but does not interrupt the radiation from the Artis If SGCT is in the CT room, then the emergency stops of each system are independent If one system is switched off, the emergency stop has no influence on the other system   Rescuing the Patient Learn about rescuing the patient from the Table. Rescuing the Patient from the Table: Problem:  The patient is lying on the patient table inside of the CT gantry during a power failure Solution: Manually push the CT Gantry away to free the patient. The breaks of the CT rails will be released after a few seconds of the power failure.  Please note that the learning material is for training purposes only!   For the proper use of the software or hardware, please always use the Operator Manual or Instructions for Use (hereinafter collectively “Operator Manual”) issued by Siemens Healthineers. Artis Collision control can also block automated movement of the SGCT but manual moving will still be possible.     CT Stop Positions Learn about the CT stop positions. Element HTML Sound File Audio ScriptCT Stop Positions can be defined in the Service User Interface of the Sliding Gantry. Up to 4 CT stop positions can be configured and then selected by name in the Exam User Interface Resuming Movement Learn about resuming movement after detected collision. Element HTML Case 1 If you have released the operating element unintentionally, you can resume the movement at any time by operating the operating element again Case 2 If an end position has been reached, you can only initiate movement in the opposite direction by deflecting the operating element in a different direction Case 3 If stopping at a basic position has been programmed, you can resume the movement by releasing the operating element and operating it again Case 4 If a collision occurred and the collision sensor responded, you can initiate a movement  and override the collision by pressing buttons I and II simultaneously and operating the operating element in a different direction. The message "Collision control deactivated" appears Sound File Audio ScriptDepending on why the movement was stopped, different measures can be taken to resume the movement: For Case 1 - If you have released the operating element unintentionally, you can resume the movement at any time by operating the operating element again. For Case 2 - If an end position has been reached, you can only initiate movement in the opposite direction by deflecting the operating element in a different direction For Case 3 - If stopping at a basic position has been programmed, you can resume the movement by releasing the operating element and operating it again And Finally For Case 4 - If a collision occurred and the collision sensor responded, you can initiate a movement  and override the collision by pressing buttons I and II simultaneously and operating the operating element in a different direction. The message "Collision control deactivated" will appear. 22 to 12 cm Within a distance > 50 cm, the systems are both operating without speed limitations Between 50 cm and 12 cm distance, some speed limitations are given and can sometimes cause an emergency stop Tip: Topo direction is always away from the C-arm so ensure the CT can reach all required body parts Yellow Status Lamp On:  Indicates the CT is inside the Artis movement range and considered in the collision calculation Emergency Stop Buttons are coupled If the CT is turned off, Artis only moves with reduced speed Systems operate in a combined mode Off  The CT is basically into it´s parking  zone CT is not considered into collision computing CT can be switched off     Green Status Lamp On: CT OK indicating CT can move and operate Off: CT cannot move or operate CT-Parking Area (configurable), Artis ignores the CT so the CT could be parked anywhere and switched off if not used. CT Area Up to 4 stop positions can be defined in SGCT Service configuration. Additional HW end stops are available. Artis Area
