Nexaris Angio-CT System Introduction Online Training

This course introduces the Nexaris Angio-CT system combination by explaining different operation modes, identifying system restrictions and safety features, and providing an example use case for the Nexaris Angio-CT system combination.

Welcome to the nexaris Angio-CT System Introduction Online Training. The nexaris Angio-CT is one of the system combinations of the nexaris Therapy suites. The system combination: Supports combined CT and Angio guidance in one session Minimizes the risk of transferring patients Increases confidence with additional imaging information (i.e. CTA) Optimizes the workflow by saving radiation, time, and space   Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to: Recognize the possible system combinations Explain the different operation modes Identify system restrictions and safety features Summarize a possible use case for the nexaris Angio-CT system combination Congratulations. You have completed the nexaris Angio-CT System Introduction Online Training course. Listed Below are the key points that have been presented. Take time to review the course material before proceeding to the final quiz. Recognize the possible system combinations The nexaris Angio-CT option is available for the following system combinations: CT Systems Sliding Gantry including SOMATOM Definition Edge, SOMATOM Definition Edge Plus or the SOMATOM Confidence are part of the portfolio for the nexaris Angio-CT Ceiling-mounted Angio Systems including X Workplace: Artis zee or Artis Q can be chosen for the nexaris Angio-CT Explain the different operation modes CT Mode In CT Mode, the Artis system is in its park position close to the patient table base The patient table position and height is aligned with the CT The Sliding Gantry CT is then enabled to move and operate Green and yellow system status lamps are on How to enable CT Mode: The Artis system is moved till the green system status lamp is on (CT-OK signal) Move the movable accessory rail to the middle position Activate the button to lock lateral tabletop movement on the TCM note: the LED lights up while the lateral movement is locked Move the tabletop towards Sliding Gantry CT until the end position is reached Move the Sliding Gantry CT to the patient table with the respective key or move the Sliding Gantry CT to the patient table with the joystick of the i-Control CT can now be used for automatic scans (i.e. Topogram ot Spiral or interventional modes) Angio Mode In Angio Mode, the Sliding Gantry CT is in a park position which cannot be reached by the C-arm of the Artis The yellow system status lamp is off, so the collision control computing of the Artis can ignore the Sliding Gantry CT How to enable Angio Mode: Move the Sliding Gantry CT away from the patient table into its park position with the respective key at the CT gantry or the joystick of the i-Control Unrestricted Angio mode is only given when the yellow lamp is off If the yellow lamp is off, the Sliding Gantry CT is positioned in an area that cannot be reached by the C-arm of the Artis system The collision control of the Artis is ignoring the Sliding Gantry CT if the yellow status lamp is off Combined System Mode (Quick Switching) In Combined System Mode, both systems are operable and in a distance where the patient can easily be shifted with the table from Angio to CT and from CT to Angio. Both system status lamps, yellow and green are on Enabling Combined Mode Move the Artis table and system till the green system status lamp turns on With the given CT-OK signal, Sliding Gantry CT movement has been enabled Next, move the Sliding Gantry CT towards the Artis System till the yellow system status lamp turns on Both systems are now operable Quick switching between them is now possible by sliding the patient with the table to the needed modality Identify system restrictions and safety limitations When both systems are in the same room, radiation of CT and Artis in the same room is not possible Radiation of both systems at the same time in a two-room setup is only possible after closing the room dividing wall Tilting of the Sliding Gantry restricts the Artis patient table height movement When both systems are in the same room, radiation of the CT and Artis at the same time is not possible Summarize an example use case for the system combination With Quick Switch and Instant Fusion, the nexaris Angio-CT has the ability to streamline interventional procedures Liver embolization and microwave ablation used to be separate procedures The combination of Angio and Computed Tomography enables users to perform liver embolization and microwave ablation within one procedure which is performed in a single session Example Procedure for an “Embo-ablation” case in the Liver: Insert the catheter in the celiac trunk under fluoro-guidance Switch to CT to get an intra-arterial CTA CT dataset is then used to identify tumor feeding vessels with Embolization Guidance on the Angio workstation Feeder vessels are overlayed on the live fluoro for vascular guidance during the embolization without additional registration (instant fusion) Patient is switched to the CT scanner for the 3D-guided intervention (i.e. RF ablation) Outcome can be verified by CTA, Perfusion, or an Angiogram with the use of i-Flow Select this link to view/print the review material before proceeding to the final quiz. SOMATOM Confidence SOMATOM Definition Edge SOMATOM Edge Plus CT Table Angio Tables Artis zee Artis Q Dual-Room Setup Single-Room Setup Angio Mode CT Mode Combined Mode The following system restrictions must be considered when using a nexaris Angio-CT. When both systems are in the same room, radiation of the CT and Artis system at the same time is not possible Radiation of both systems at the same time in a two-room setup is only possible after closing the room dividing wall Tilting of the Sliding Gantry restricts the Artis patient table height movement When both systems are in the same room, radiation of the CT and Artis at the same time is not possible    Spill-Resistant Rail Covers Learn about spill-resistant rail covers. Spill-resistant Rail Covers are: Magnetically sealed Easy to clean with standard cleaning agents Flush to the floor so other equipment can roll over Water Cooled CT Learn about the Water Cooled CT. Water Cooled CT scanners are: More likely to meet clean air standards in OR than air cooling systems Less likely to disturb the laminar flow Place less strain on air conditioning room Less noisy - providing more comfort for patient and clinician  With the nexaris Angio-CT system combination, it is now possible to perform liver embolization and microwave ablation within one procedure which is performed in one single session. This video will take a closer look at an example case of a patient with liver cancer.      To enable CT mode: The Artis system is moved till the green system status lamp is on (CT OK signal) Move the movable accessory rail to the middle position Activate the button Lock lateral tabletop movement on the TCM note: the LED lights up while the lateral movement is locked Move the tabletop towards Sliding Gantry CT until the end position is reached Move the Sliding Gantry CT to the patient table with the respective key or move the Sliding Gantry CT to the patient table with the joystick of the i-Control CT can now be used for automatic scans (i.e. Topogram or Spiral or interventional modes) To enable the Angio mode: Move the Sliding Gantry CT away from the patient table into its park position with the respective key at the CT gantry or the joystick of the i-Control Unrestricted Angio mode is only given when the yellow lamp is off If the yellow lamp is off, the Sliding Gantry CT is in an area which cannot be reached by the C-arm of the Artis system The collision control of the Artis is ignoring the Sliding Gantry CT if the yellow status lamp is off   Quick Switch between modalities is possible when both system status lamps, green and yellow, are turned on. First, move the Artis table and system till the green system status lamp turns on. With the given CT OK signal, Sliding Gantry CT movement has been enabled Then, move the Sliding Gantry CT towards the Artis System until the yellow system status lamp turns on       →     Disclaimer: Please note that the learning material is for training purposes only!   For the proper use of the software or hardware, please always use the Operator Manual or Instructions for Use (hereinafter collectively “Operator Manual”) issued by Siemens Healthineers.
