ACUSON P500™ Ultrasound System CDV and CDE Video

This video contains information of the ACUSON P500 ultrasound system color Doppler functions.

In color, Doppler velocity or CDV mode, the velocity and direction of flow are represented with different colors for direction in different shades for velocity. To activate CDV, press the C button control using the touchscreen panel buttons. You can adjust the color filter, smoothing, priority, multi Hertz flow map persistence, and Rs settings when you press the C button, a colorbox region of interest or ROI will appear over your 2D image. Press the position button located next to the touch pad to change between color box position and color box size. The Touch pad also allows you to change the box position in size. If you were using a linear transducer, you may use the steer control located on the left of the touchscreen to steer the color box to the desired angle. To adjust the color gain, turn the color control nob. The color map located on the right of the image Ng screen indicates the direction and velocity of blood flow. The baseline are zero. Flow is shown as a black line in the color map. The color above the baseline represents flow towards the transducer and the color below the baseline represents flow away from the transducer. The priority button allows you to adjust the threshold of overlaying color information on the 2D image. The low settings display more than two D information and the high settings display more of the color information. This function is available on the real time in frozen image. There are up to 7 transducer dependent wall filters available, sometimes referred to as reject. The filter function reduces the amount of noise and clutter by suppressing the lower level signals that are the result of tissue and vessel wall motion. Changing the smooth function adjust the spatial averaging for flow. What this means is that the color displayed is average to remove extra signals that appear as clutter. This function allows you to optimize the color image for changes and flow. The low setting increases the sensitivity to low velocity flow states. This setting lowers the pulse repetition frequency or purf, but increases flash or motion artifacts. The medium setting provides a balance between the flash suppression and maximum sensitivity by using an adaptive wall filter. The high setting optimizes the system for the high arterial flow common to pulse atile vessels and stenotic conditions. Multi Hertz allows you to select the transmit frequency for the transducer. This frequency displays on the softkey an on the image. Changing the transmit frequency during color image Ng allows you to eliminate color aliasing and adjust color sensitivity to eliminate color aliasing and increased penetration. Use a lower frequency. To increase spatial resolution, an color sensitivity, use a higher frequency. Pressing the color display button allows you to remove the color overlay on a frozen real time image. Dual image orcin a loop. Color Doppler Energy or CD displays the amplitude or intensity of blood flow. It is more sensitive in the detection of low velocity vessels, also known as power Doppler. This mode does not display directional information and is more sensitive to motion in Flash artifact. To activate CD, Press the Softkey button located on the touch screen. the CD touchscreen controls include map persistence, filter smoothing, priority multi hurts and flow. Press the position button located next to the touch pad, or use a pinching motion on the touch pad to change between color box position and color box size. If you were using a linear transducer, you may use the steer control located on the left of the touchscreen to steer the color box to a desired angle. You can also use the dual function to display CD image next to a color Doppler velocity image.
