ACUSON P500™ Ultrasound System Measurements Video

This video contains a high-level overview of  measurements on the ACUSON P500 ultrasound system.

This section contains a high level overview of measurements available on the acuson P 500 system. Two categories of measurements and calculations are available on the system general and exam specific. The softkey controls are located across the top of the control panel. These keys correspond to selection of a measurement method. The screen displays the functions assigned to each key. To perform up to 8 general measurements for 2D M Mode and Doppler, you assign a measurement by tapping the corresponding term located on the menu and then measure or do the reverse measure and then enter the measurement by tapping the corresponding button. Pressing the measure button activates the caliber. You can use the touch pad to move the caliper to the desired location. Press one of the set keys located on each side of the touch pad to set the caliper. Position the second caliper using the touch pad to complete the measurement. To change the endpoints, press edit located above the touchpad. To change the measurement type, use the soft keys located above the keyboard. The corresponding touch pad icon located in the center of the Lower Monitor indicates the key function for the buttons surrounding the touchpad. These will change depending on the functions being performed. To page through the available measurements, press the rider left arrows on the round button. The exam specific measurements and calculations are arranged by exam type. An example of an exam specific measurement would be one performed during an obstetric or cerebral vascular exam. For this example, we will use a cerebral vascular exam of a carotid artery. The exam specific measurements or measurements you can enter into the report display on the left side of the monitor. Once you press the measure button to change the exam measurement displayed, tap on the exam button to view all exam types. Obtain a lanja tude Inal image of the common carotid artery press PW. Align sample gate at the mid CC A and press PW. Once you have obtained a clean waveform, press freeze. Press measure. Select the side right or left to enter measurements into the report on the correct side. To enter a common carotid artery or CC, a measurement taken from the middle of the vessel, select the CC a mid on the menu on the left side. The text changes color, indicating it is active, and a goalpost appears on the spectral tracing. Choose the desired location on the waveform. In this case the peak systolic and press set to anchor. Choose the endpoint, in this case in diastolic. Place the active goalpost and press set. The waveform is then traced an the measurements display in the selected area at the bottom of the image. Press the print store button to enter the measurement into the report. As you can see, the measurement results selected on the M&R page of the configuration menu display, not only on the image, but in the right. See see a mid section of the report. Note that measurements performed with the autostadt function do not enter into the report.
