Performing a SPECT/CT Hybrid Study (SPECT First/CT Second) MI SPECT Symbia Bold, Intevo and Intevo Excel Description: This Step by Step is an example case on how to perform a hybrid scan on the Symbia Intevo, acquiring the SPECT study first followed by the CT. 1. Warming up the X-ray Tube Patient bed MUST be in CT Brain position before beginning CT Calibration (warm up) (on hand control, double click CT Index button and then hit the CT Brain Study Position but- ton) 1. CT Brain Study Position 2 3 2. CT Body Study Position 3. SPECT Study Position a. From the Examination Card, select Setup -> Calibration b. Start on CT Control Pad to start the calibration. c. Retract bed once Calibration is complete (on hand control, double click CT Index button and then hit the SPECT Study Position button) 2. Registering a Patient from the HIS/RIS a. Open Patient Browser b. Highlight Scheduler icon in the tree c. Double click on Scheduler to update if your patient list does not update automatically d. Highlight the current patient at either the Series or Study level e. Click Patient menu option -> Register f. Verify patient information, study name, technologist initials, institution name, etc. on Reg- istration page g. Click Exam SIEMENS siemens.com/healthineers Healthineers . If the detectors are not in the right configuration, press the Reconfiguration tab from the PPM b. Lower the patient table to patient access height by double pressing the Wheelchair Height button (1) (4) (2) (3) (5) (6) d. Position patient on bed e. Raise table to imaging height (Iso-Center) by double pressing the Gurney Height button and then adjust with up / down / in / out buttons to position patient in the NM Field of View (FOV) (1) (4) (2) (3) o (6) (7) f. On MI Apps Acquisition workstation, select the patient by single clicking on their name, then double click the desired acquisition workflow, update series information and hit Start. The SPECT acquisition will now begin 4. Perform CT Exam a. When the SPECT acquisition completes, click on the CT Acquisition Activity on the Workflow Navigator b. Click Prepare at the bottom of the screen. The table will automatically index into the CT scanner (be alert for any obstructions or patient collisions). c. Click Load to perform the Topogram. Press and hold the Move button on the CT Control Pad if instructed to. This will move the patient bed to the correct starting position. Load d. When instructed to, press Start button on CT Control Pad to begin Topogram. You can suspend the Topogram by hitting the Suspend button on the CT Control Pad once you have scanned the desired anatomy Topogram Press START Suspend Button - Start Button e. Verify the settings of the CT acquisition and click Load. Press and hold Move button on the CT Control Pad if instructed to. This will move the patient bed to the correct starting position. g. When instructed to, press Start button on CT Control Pad. You can suspend the CT by hitting the Suspend button on the CT Control Pad once you have scanned the desired anatomy. h. The CT Recons will automatically start. Click Close Current Patient button (Red arrow below) i. Click Complete to end exam 6. Unload Patient a. Unload patient from table by double clicking CT Index button on hand control and then clicking the SPECT Study Position button. You may have to hold the Table Out button to fully retract the SPECT Pallet once the CT Pallet is completely retracted. b.
