Welcome to the RAPIDPoint® 500e Blood Gas System Overview Online Training course. The RAPIDPoint® 500e Blood Gas System is intended for invitro diagnostic use in point of care or laboratory settings. A test parameter with a check mark indicates it is selected for analysis. Buttons located on the bottom of the screen are used to access system setup features and other system information such as the serial number and software version. 4Continue Button The orange Continue button navigates to the Analysis screen.   Select the orange "Continue" button which displays a white arrow to navigate to the Analysis screen. The sample port allows you to introduce patient and QC samples to the system. It accepts syringes, capillary tubes, and QC ampules with adapters. The measurement cartridge is secured in place by the latch and is used to perform sample and QC analysis and calibration. The wash/waste cartridge contains the wash reagent that cleans the sample path and also stores waste fluid. The optional automatic quality control, or AQC, cartridge, contains all the components needed to analyze QC samples automatically. The connector allows QC material to flow from the AQC cartridge to the measurement cartridge for analysis. Please note that the system door locks to prevent removal of the measurement cartridge during operation. 3USB Ports  Allows you to connect to external devices ​Used for external storage of data and loading new software There are three USB ports which allow you to connect to external devices, such as a flash drive. The screen latch adjusts the viewing angle of the touch screen. The CO-ox lamp is used for analyzing hemoglobin and its fractions and neonatal bilirubin. The air filter is located behind a cover and routinely inspected. In addition, there is an ethernet port used to interface the system to middleware or the hospital LIS. There are two serial ports available. The lower serial port connects the optional external barcode scanner to the system. The Wash/Waste cartridge symbol appears in the system software banner when the cartridge is low, or less than 24 hours remain until expiration.  Automatic QC Cartridge Contains Quality Control material, plus the electronic, mechanical, and fluidic components needed to analyze QC automatically. This cartridge is optional. The Automatic QC Cartridge symbol appears in the system software banner when the cartridge is low, or less than 24 hours remain until expiration.  Sample Port Allows the operator to introduce patient and QC samples to the system. It accepts syringes, capillary tubes and QC ampules with adapters. The system software will prompt the operator to replace it when sample error conditions are present such as when the expected sample is not detected.  Two options available: One step authentication  Two step authentication  Sign into the System Learn about signing into the system.
