RAPIDPoint® 500e Blood Gas System Positioning a Syringe in the Sample Port

This video provides instructions on how to perform the task of positioning a syringe in the sample port on the RAPIDPoint® 500e Blood Gas System.

View the following video before you begin to run a syringe sample. Properly collect, mix and transport the syringe sample from the patient to the blood gas system. Select the syringe button. Mix the syringe sample. Remove the filter cap, expel the first drop into a gauze pad and insert the syringe into the sample port. Select the start button, wait for the sample to aspirate. The sample port will return to its original position after the sample has aspirated. Remove the syringe from the sample port, press continue. And replace the filter cap on the syringe scan patient ID. And select the continue button to initiate the sample analysis. Play the video again if you need help running a syringe sample.
