RO CT System Check Up & QA Process Job Aid SOMATOM go.Sim & SOMATOM go.OpenPro; VA30 This document guides the user through the System Check Up and Quality Assurance processes for the SOMATOM go.Sim and go.OpenPro CT scanners. System Check Up and Table Homing To ensure safe operation, best image quality, and to correct any system irregularities, it is recommended to perform a Check Up procedure in regular intervals, typically every 24 hours. If a Check Up is not executed after 24 hours, a pop-up message will appear, but can be cleared. If the Check Up is still not performed at 36 hours, the message cannot be cleared until the Check Up is initiated. Steps to perform a Check Up: 1. Select System Check from the Home screen or Check Up in the Settings menu. The Check Up window opens. If System Check is selected from the Home screen, all Check Up and QA processes will load in one window. If System Check is selected from the Settings menu, each check up and QA processes will need to be selected separately. Check up, System Check 2. Press the Move button on the control box to complete Table Homing. Once Table Homing complete, Select GO. You are prompted to press Start. For optimum image quality and system safety, please run the Checkup procedure. Exit the scan room The table will move automatically X-rays will be produced during the Checkup procedure. Repeat Cancel Checkup has started. Press the GO button to continue. 5. Press Start on the control box. Scanning is initiated. The System Check Up begins. The Daily QA checks the Noise and Homogeneity using a phantom. Once complete, the system automatically generates a report of the results. Daily QA should be performed every 24 hours. Steps to perform a Daily QA: 1. If System Check selected from the Home screen, you will be prompted to perform the Daily QA from the list. If System Check not selected from the Home screen, then you will need to select Daily QA from the Settings menu. Securely insert phantom into the head end of the table. Align reference marks on phantom with the internal Siemens CT lasers. 3. Select GO. You are prompted to press start. Press Start at the control box. Scanning is initiated. Daily QA started. SIEMENS Healthingers Direct Laser Check (Optional) If your system is equipped with Direct Lasers, you will need to perform a Direct Laser Check. It is recommended to perform once a month. Once complete, the system will automatically generate a report of the results. 1. Go to the Settings menu and select Direct Laser Check. 2. Align Direct Laser phantom at the head of table, securing with an index bar. Align Direct Lasers with the central axis reference marks on the phantom. im R : Scan d = Recon o C. Breath par Check # CT VIEW&GO Direct Laser Check Close 2 Place the RTP phantom on the table using a Lok.Bar. Die aligned with the center groove on the top and sides of the RTP phantom. 4. Manually adjust the table height until the Direct Laser lights are aligned with the grooves on both sides of the phantom. 5. Exit the scan room. 6. Press GO to start the Direct Laser Check. 7. The table will automatically move to the scan plane. 8. X-rays will be produced during the procedure. 9. The table will automatically move back to the Patient Marking Laser plane at the end of the procedure. GO 3. Press GO.
