ACUSON Sequoia™ Ultrasound System 3D/4D Job aid

This document contains a review of 3D data set components, the automated acquisition, and voxel adjustments.

ACUSON Sequoia™ Ultrasound System 3D/4D Job Aid Components of a data set The 3D data set is a series of 2D-mode images. • The 2D-mode image displays on the X and Y-planes as a pixel. • A 3D image adds a Z-plane, creating the voxel, and adding depth to the image. • A multiplanar image displays three planes called the A, B, and C planes. • The reference dot shows the pivot point for all three planes. • Rotations of the image and data set occur on three axes. • X-axis rotates horizontally. • Y-axis rotates vertically. • Z-axis rocks clockwise or counterclockwise. • Automated acquisition of a data set Data sets acquired with an automated transducer contain qualitative information. • Hold the automated transducer stationary during acquisition using even pressure. • Use the smallest ROI / VOI, and sweep angle possible. • The Quality setting adjusts the number of 2D images acquired in the sweep and • thus the volume rate, speed of acquisition, and resolution change. A sampling of adjustments for the voxel and image Brightness Changes the voxel saturation. • Optimal 3D image dependent on the 2D-mode overall gain settings. • Opacity Adjusts the transparency of the voxel. • Increasing the opacity level results in a solid appearance of a structure. • Decreasing results in a transparent appearance. • Quality Allows selection to balance resolution and acquisition time. • Determines the number or 2D images acquired in a sweep. • Smooth Changes the surface appearance of the rendered volume. • Sweep angle Distance the mechanical transducer moves during data set acquisition. • Threshold Decreasing threshold removes low-level echoes. • Increasing threshold removes low-level echoes filling in surfaces. • SIEMENS Unrestricted Published by Siemens Healthcare GmbH © Siemens Healthcare GmbH, 2020 Healthineers Master Template Effective Date: 3/5/2020 | HOOD05162003074494 Effective Date: 18 Feb 2021 | HOOD0516200313162771 ACUSON Sequoia System 3D/4D Job Aid Effective Date: 18 Feb 2021 | HOOD05162003162771 Please note that the learning material is for training purposes only!
