ACUSON Sequoia™ ultrasound system 2D-mode Touch Screen

This video will help the user understand the touch screen 2D-mode features using the ACUSON Sequoia™ ultrasound system.

Welcome in this video, we will review the 2D touchscreen controls used to optimize your grayscale image. At the end of this video you will be able to describe the activation of 2D tools located on the touch screen. We begin with the 2D optimization tools found on the Touch screen, Auto EQ or tissue equalization technology optimizes the overall image brightness by applying depth and lateral gain compensation to activate select auto EQ from the touchscreen. When active, the auto EQ feature on the control panel is backlit in blue. And a white icon appears on the image screen. Press to activate or deactivate live dual allows display of two real time images. This allows comparison of an image such as a 2D mode with the color equivalent. Tap live dual to display 2 images in a side-by-side format. Tissue harmonic imaging or TH I is a 2D mode in which the transducer receives echoes that are twice the transmitted frequency. There is a reduction of artifacts due to the tissue creating the harmonic signal deeper than the artifact. This results in a reduction in image haze. Noise. An clutter as well as other artifacts such as grading and sidelobe artifacts. Com pounding is a method to direct the soundbeam in multiple directions, scanning the area of interest multiple times coupled with frame averaging results in a reduction in artifacts such as specal, visualization of tissue boundaries increases due to the angle of insulation being closer to 90 degrees and finally anatomy located posterior to shadowing structures can be imaged. To change the number of steering angles, use the line density softkey. The lowest setting uses fewer lines of sight, producing an image with a higher frame rate. Higher line density settings use more angles and you may see a slight decrease in frame rate. Tip use the dual function to compare anatomy with different com pounding levels. In this example, the left dual shows an image with the COM pounding off, while the right image has the com pounding on the left right. Flip control changes the side to side orientation of the image. Tapping the control flips the image so the A is on the right side of the image. The up down flip control changes the top to bottom orientation of the image. Tapping the control flips the image so the A is on the bottom. Tapping the biopsy control activates the onscreen guideline. A message verify that the physical needle guide matches your angle selection appears when you are sure the guide matches the needle path, click OK. Use the trackball to adjust the target depth. The biopsy function is available with 2D image Ng 2D with color Doppler energy, or CDE and 2D with color Doppler velocity or CDV. And easy Fusion imaging. Tap the biopsy control to exit. Tapping the timer control activates or deactivates the timer. The timer displays in the lower right of the image. Ultra Art Universal image processing displays 4 images on the touch screen to change the setting, select the Ultra Art Universal image processing icon on the touch screen. Off represents is the image without processing. One shows low level of processing. Two shows mid range processing. Three has the highest level of processing. Each image shows different optimization adjustments to reduce specal. Increase edge enhancement. Optimize contrast. Game and. Dynamic range settings. This allows the selection of the image that fits each image Ng situation. If no selection is made from the touch screen, the 2D mode image returns to the original adjustments. Trapezoids wider field of view allows you and expanded imaging format for image in large superficial structures. Tap the trapezoid control to activate this feature. Press either trackball key located on each side of the trackball to activate the size adjustment function. Pressing a trackball key a second time activates the position function. This allows you to move the image area within the trapezoid field. If you are using color, you can change the size and position of both the 2D an the color box with the trackball. To exit, tap the trapezoid control. Please note the trapezoidal function may not be available for certain depths. The breast preset allows you to adjust the speed of sound to adjust for individual tissue types. Use a higher setting for fatty tissue and a lower setting for less fatty or soft tissue. To view features located on the second page, simply tap the arrow or swipe the touchscreen. The image size control changes the size of the displayed image. Note the field of view or FOV width is not affected when changing the image size. In this video you have learned functions used to optimize the 2D mode image located on the touch screen of the Acuson Sequoia system.
