Somaris 7 System Maintenance Procedure Job Aid Somaris 7; SOMATOM Definiton AS/AS+/Edge/Edge Plus/Flash, SOMATOM Drive/Force This document will outline the properly recommended shutdown protocol for CT syngo® on Somaris 7 systems. This is the recommended protocol for all Somaris 7 Systems: • Shut down daily [full system off] • Restart/reboot weekly [resets UMAS {Universal Master} to maintain system performance and speed] • Clean up and shut down weekly [defragments the disc and keeps the database running better] • Daily QA is recommended Please note: Every system is different and aircooled sytems may have/need a differnt protocol. Please follow instructions from the Clinical Service Engineer (CSE) and or your Service Customer Care Team. Switching on the system Press the Sys On key at the back side of the control box. Note: Full operability is reached when both the gantry operator panels and the LED at the control box light up. At the CT Workplace (post-processing console) - Always first! • System > End • Choose Shut Down System • The computer will shut off automatically and the screen will go blank At the CT Acquisition Workplace (scanning console) • System > End • Choose Shut Down System • The computer will shut off automatically and the screen will go blank Start-up of operating system (Windows) Checkup For best image quality please run checkup procedure. • Start-up of syngo Please leave the scan room. The table will move out of the gantry. X-rays will be produced during the checkup procedure. • System Check-Up Click on Checkup to start procedure Click on Cancel to skip procedure. • When you start the system, the tube is not at operating tempera- ture and the detectors have not yet been calibrated. • Incorrect diagnosis resulting from image artifacts or other image quality issue may arise. This process will determine if the CT scanning sys- tem is operating with normal tolerance of Homogeneity and Noise Values. Patient Applications Edit losert View Setup Image Options System Help 1. From the toolbar, select Setup>Quality. API/ Comment Calibration Check-up Quality Continue 2. Mount the QA phantom and use the laser lights to position the Quality Check phantom isocenter in the gantry. Select OK and press the start Function "Daily Quality Check" started. Position slice phantom in the gantry center button on the control box to begin the quality check. Set vertical table height to 179 mm Click OK when ready OK Cancel 3.
