How to Use CARE kV grouping SOMATOM go.All/SOMATOM go.Top Adapting the kV value for each patient offers significant dose reduction potential. However, changing the kV impacts the Hounsfield Unit value in the resulting images. In CARE kV, you can add scan entries to a Group to set the same kV value for all scan ranges at once, for example, to perform a three-phase liver examination. This value is applied to the entire scan range and does not modulate during the scan. In 5 easy steps, this document guides you through the workflow of how to turn on CARE kV grouping for SOMATOM go.All and SOMATOM go.Top. Please note: This Job Aid reflects software version VA30. • CARE Dose4D and CARE kV are combined where the CARE kV license is available. • The CARE Dose4D & CARE kV is set to Full. • All scan ranges that are added to the CARE kV group are scanned with the same kV value while the other settings are retained. • For scans with a CARE kV group with different limits, CARE kV selects the kV values within the defined limits for all scans of this CARE kV group. • Only one group can be created in one study. 1. How to Turn on CARE kV grouping: • On the timeline, right mouse click (or double click) on the scan range and choose Show Parameters to open.
