syngo.via VA30 - How to Create a Volume Measurement in MM Reading

How to Create a Volume Measurement in syngo.via® MM Reading The VOI tool in syngo.via MM Reading allows for creation of a volume of interest by drawing multiple 2D regions of interest in different image planes. 1. From the Patient Worklist, load an appropriate data set into the MM Reading Workflow, or access the MM Reading Workflow Step from within most other syngo.via Workflows. 2. Volumes of two-dimensional axial data are more easily defined using different image planes. Select the Compare Step, and if necessary change the Layout to display the data set in axial, sagittal, and coronal MPR planes. It is important to note that the images MUST be in MPR or MPR Thick to define a volume. MM Reading Overview ompare Results 3. From the desired working image, access VOI Freehand from the upper right in-segment tools. Using the left mouse button, draw around the area of interest. This can be done in one continuous motion or by using small, incremental clicks. Double click to end the drawing. 6. Scroll through the data set and draw contours on additional images to better define the desired area. NOTE: It is not necessary to draw on every image – you can scroll through and skip images and the contours will be interpolated. SIEMENS www.usa.siemens.com/healthcare Page 2 of 4 7. To edit any of the contours, right mouse click on the VOI to access the editing tools: Correction Pen Nudge Tool v Draw Delete  The Correction Pen allows you to modify a contour by re-drawing on the existing perimeter. Use the left mouse button to draw the new contour, and double click to end the drawing  The Nudge Tool allows you to use a circular ball to push the existing contour from the inside or the outside. The size of the ball depends on the proximity to the contour when activated  You can also move, stretch and elongate the existing contour by grabbing the various handles that appear when in the edit mode SIEMENS www.usa.siemens.com/healthcare Page 3 of 4 8. Once the contours have been drawn and edited to the desired area, click the Object Creation icon in the VOI Freehand mini-toolbar. The newly-created volume will be colored pink, and the volume properties will display on the image and in the Findings Navigator.
