The individual brain structures are automatically segmented and their volumes are measured and compared to a normative database.   As a result the rate of change for two time points is given. Results are sent to PACS automatically. As input images sagittal orientations of T1 MPRAGE should be used.   Prior and current series should be compatible, to compare the results in a follow-up scenario.   In case the prior and current series are not compatible, for example due to different matrix sizes, the information "current is not compatible with prior" is shown in the lower right area below the image segments. Processing of Morphometry is done fully automatically during the preprocessing of MR Neurology. In Follow up cases only the current study is preprocessed.   Automatic preprocessing can be disabled in the MR Neurology settings. If Preprocessing is disabled the Processing can be triggered manually. Load a follow up case from a patient. If no Morphometry processing was done for the prior case, this needs to be triggered manually.   Select the brain morphometry icon in the Case Navigator. A new Image layout opens where the current study is displayed in the left segment and the prior study in the right segment.   In the upper segment task bar the series for processing can be selected. For example if three priors are loaded the prior 2 series can be selected and processed. The calculated results of Brain Morphometry are loaded into the Brain Morphometry Results step.   In the two upper segments the Label maps fused with the morphology are displayed. The ratio of the fusion between the MPRAGE and Label map can be modified in the lower left corner menu MPR/MPR properties mixing ratio.   Automating the desired ratio for fusion can be set in the MR Neurology settings.   In the lower segment the Morphology Report is displayed. In the graph the left side is displaying the current results. The right side is displaying the prior results; the rate of change is displayed in the middle. As a result of the calculation a brain morphometry report is created. The report includes several volumetric tables and graphic visualization of trends for the different brain regions. In addition to the report, results are visualized as label maps and deviation maps. Both map types are available with and without fused MPR. The report and the maps are saved as separate new series.   For follow-up cases, the report includes the data for the prior time point and the rate of change between the current and the prior.   The rate of change is only calculated if current and prior are at least 180 days apart. Trending graph depicting the current data, prior data, and normative percentiles are available for selected brain regions at the end of the report.   The percentile values can be configured in the MR Neurology settings. In Morphometry Settings the following can be configured Settings for the Blend factor for the Deviation Map and Label Map Percentile for the Volumes Preprocessing of morphometry Enable Follow-Up Mode Processing of improperly acquired data Automatic sending of results to PACS PACS Ready functionality in Neuro Perfusion: Local AIF maps are sent to PACS automatically after preprocessing. In the MR Oncology workflow, you can perform segmentations and calculate histograms. With OncoTrend you can analyze whole-body tumor burden assessment and evaluate trending of current and prior studies by segmentation on whole-body diffusion and ADC data.   As a result quantitative results are given, supporting the standardization of whole-body MRI for treatment response monitoring. This may support you in assessing treatment response in metastatic bone disease. For the OncoTrend evaluation, you need diffusion-weighted images (DWI) with ADC maps and b-value images, each for prior and current studies.   When scanning the whole body, the images need to be combined or composed.   If necessary, b-value and ADC can be calculated by using the Analysis Tools from the lower right corner menu.   ADC maps and b-value images from only one body region can also be used. Select OncoTrend Icon in the Case Navigator. OncoTrend layout is opened. High b-value and ADC series are loaded from current and prior studies.   The Upper row loads the current study. The Lower row loads the prior study. Left column segments load the highest b-value series Middle column segments load the ADC series Right column segments are the placeholder for the Histograms to be loaded The toolbar below the image segments provides the necessary controls for the evaluation. The workflow of the evaluation is represented by the order of the controls.   The loaded images could be replaced by drag and drop in to the segments.   If necessary, b-value and ADC can be calculated by using the Analysis Tools from the lower right corner menu. The segmentation is a threshold-based segmentation in MPR or MIP view. The segmentation is performed on the b-value images and projected onto the ADC maps used for the histogram calculation.   In the toolbar below the image segments select Create Segmentation. This creates threshold-based segmentation. The segmented area is shown as a color overlay in the b-value image. The coloring is as an overlay in case of MIP view and as measurement in case of MPR view.   Check the segmentation result and if necessary, adjust the threshold for the segmentation by using the twin slider.   The threshold lower limit is 100 and the maximum pixel intensity value of the image is used as the upper limit. Refine the segmentation and exclude segmented areas for the further evaluation. For example, for a whole-body bone metastasis trend you can exclude segmentation results of the head, kidneys, liver or bladder. Select the Punch icon and draw circular or elliptical ROIs around the regions that should be excluded for the further evaluations. The image orientation or image display mode (MIP or MPR view) can be changed accordingly. In the refine Punch tool choose the options Remove Inside or Remove Outside from the punch tool bar to set the scope for exclusion. The segmentation done in the b-value series is propagated to the ADC series. Select Histogram Select the segment for Histogram display The colors from the histogram are automatically transferred (back mapped) to the b-value image in the first segment With standard settings, high ADC values are displayed in green and represent the regions of therapy response, while low ADC values are displayed in red and represent active disease areas. The Histogram settings can be adjusted if necessary by adjusting the sliders of the histogram or using the tools from the histogram mini toolbar. Histogram statistics show the Quantification of the histogram. Comparing up to three histograms using the Show Statistics icon is possible. If only two histograms are selected, the difference in the values is computed and displayed. In syngo.via VB40 MR Cardiac includes several improvements. On the following pages you will learn more about creating a new user defined Movie Layout in MR Cardiac Reading new features in MR Cardiac Ventricular function For the MR Cardiac Reading step, you can create customized private layouts. You can synchronize movie views for different slice positions and time points in a layout. This allows, for example, the viewing of the ventricular wall movements or the contractibility after administration of stress agents for different slice positions and time points. Open the Layout Gallery and create a new layout. Choose the number of segments. Drag the desired cine series from the Series Navigator to the image segments. Select the image segments to be synchronized and in the common tools area, from the Synch tool select Movie. In the Layout Gallery, click the Save icon to save your layout. For starting the movie press the space bar to start/stop the movie view. In MR Cardiac Ventricular function the user can decide on the preferred contour drawing mode that should be used per default in order to speed up the reading process. In the MR Cardiac Function step, click on the MR Cardiac Function Properties. In the Contour drawing section you can enable the ED-ES only mode per default for the Normal and/or the Manual mode. In this mode, the working segment automatically displays the ES phases and the movie segment automatically displays the ED phases. You can edit, create, or delete the contours in both segments. Confirm your settings with OK. Note: The applied settings will get active after restarting the Workflow.   In MR Cardiac Ventricular function there is a new contour editing tool for adapting already existing contours in an intuitive way.  Select the Endo/Epi Contour that needs adapting by selecting it with Endo/Epi buttons in the case navigator. Switching or toggling between Endo/Epi Contour can be done by using Shortcut Alt + A. Select Control Point Edit, which is in the submenu of the Nudge tool. Adjusts the contour by dragging the control points to the desired direction. New control points can be added by clicking with Left mouse button. Existing control points can be deleted by clicking with Right mouse button. There is an easy comparison mode for comparing the values between LV and RV. The Time Volume Graph (TVG) segment shows relevant values for example, EF, SV, ED/ES volume for both ventricles. Customizable Normal Ranges allow adapting the normal ranges for example when following recommendations from different publications or for examining pediatric patients. The normal values can be changed for all available options LV, LV NORM, RV, RV NORM. Open findings details, click on Edit button. Enter the wanted normal values. After editing click Edit button again to save changes. Reset restores the Normal Ranges to Siemens default. The changed normal values are user specific changes therefore different users can have their own preferred values. For MR Cardiac Ventricular function, the quantitative results of the current functional analysis are available in Finding details. In addition, the wall thickening results of the LV functional analysis are documented in an AHA-conforming segment model and in a numeric table.   The findings are listed in the Findings Navigator and are added to the report.   Additionally, a new result series is created including now also the wall thickening. The result is loaded into the Series navigator. Multiple voxels can be selected for setting voxels to high or low quality for example when shaping a metabolite map.   Select the voxels that need to be marked with Ctrl key and left mouse click and select high or low quality.   This works if all selected voxels are of the same category, high or low quality. During multi-voxel selection the spectrum of the first selected voxel is displayed. syngo.via VB40 provides several improvements with regards to MR Neurology Workflow.
