VersaCell® X3 Solution with IMMULITE® Immunoassay System Connectivity Online Training

This will familiarize the operator with aspects of operation that are unique when the VersaCell® X3 system is connected to an IMMULITE® Immunoassay System.

Welcome to the VersaCell® X3 Solution with IMMULITE® Immunoassay System Connectivity Online Training course. The goal of this course is to familiarize the operator with aspects of operation that are unique when the VersaCell X3 system is connected to an IMMULITE Immunoassay System. Select Next to continue. Describe QC and patient sample processing Identify the steps of the tube journey List the causes of common errors List the steps to perform startup Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to: Select Next to continue. Congratulations.  You have completed the VersaCell X3 Solution with IMMULITE Immunoassay System Connectivity Online Training course.  Listed below are the key points that have been presented.  Take time to review the material before you proceed to the final quiz Identify the steps of the tube journey The connection of an IMMULITE system to the VersaCell X3 system is different from other system connections to the VersaCell X3 system in that the IMMULITE system connection does not use an interface wheel.  Instead, an automation rack is installed on the IMMULITE system's sample carousel.    The steps in the tube journey include: The robotic arm scans the tube barcode and transfers the tube to the automation rack on the IMMULITE system The VersaCell X3 system sends the order to the IMMULITE system  The IMMULITE system sample probe aspirates sample from the tube on the automation rack The tube is returned to a drawer by the robotic arm The results are sent from the IMMULITE system to the VersaCell X3 system, and then to the LIS List the steps to perform startup Startup features unique to the connection of a VersaCell X3 system to an IMMULITE system: On the IMMULITE system screen, a “Received Reinitialize 1” message indicates that communication has been established with the VersaCell X3 system. On the VersaCell X3 system screen, the instrument status remains “Not Connected” until the connected instrument’s software is initialized and the prompt to delete the worklist is answered. Describe QC and patient sample processing Controls: Control samples may be loaded either directly on the IMMULITE system or in a VersaCell X3 system drawer. Control test orders should be manually entered using the IMMULITE software to ensure control samples are sent to the appropriate instrument. A worklist of control test orders may be created, saved and imported on each instrument. Control test order status and results display on the VersaCell X3 system Test Results screen. Patients: Patient samples may be loaded in a VersaCell X3 system drawer or loaded directly on the IMMULITE system. Orders can be generated from the LIS or from the IMMULITE software. Patient test order status and results display on the VersaCell X3 system Test Results screen. Reflex tests and auto diluted test orders generated on the IMMULITE system will be sent by the instrument to the VersaCell X3 system. The VersaCell X3 system will send the test order back to the IMMULITE system along with the sample tube. The VersaCell X3 screens display the instrument generated test orders sent by the IMMULITE systems. If a test order is manually ordered on the IMMULITE system, the instrument will send the order to the VersaCell X3 system. The VersaCell X3 system will send the test order back to the IMMULITE system along with the sample tube. The manually ordered tests display on the VersaCell X3 screens.  List the causes of common errors Causes of common errors with the IMMULITE system connection include: Assay Errors: Missing bead packs, reagent wedges, or diluent needed to run a particular test. Problems with onboard bead packs, reagent wedges, or diluent (for example, an improperly placed reagent wedge or bead pack). Sample Errors Insufficient sample Sample with a clot When Immulite system assay errors and sample errors post on the VersaCell X3 system, resolve them following the standard procedures for resolving these errors.  Refer to the VersaCell X3 System Troubleshooting Online Training course and the VersaCell X3 Solution Operator's Guide for more information. If you encounter an error message that states “Clear Tubes from the Automation Rack” on the Immulite system screen, the instrument will automatically put itself into a Sample Pause state.  Follow these steps to correct the problem: Select the Pause button on the IMMULITE system Home screen to put the instrument into All Pause.  This ensures the robotic arm does not travel to the connected instrument while the problem is being corrected. Select Cover in the IMMULITE software to unlock the cover. Open the cover and remove any sample tubes from the automation rack. Close the cover and select the Run button. Select Next to continue.   The steps in the tube journey include: The robotic arm scans the tube barcode and transfers the tube to the automation rack on the IMMULITE Immunoassay System The VersaCell X3 system sends the order to the IMMULITE Immunoassay System The IMMULITE Immunoassay System sample probe aspirates sample from the tube on the automation rack The tube is returned to a drawer by the robotic arm The results are sent from the IMMULITE Immunoassay System to the VersaCell X3 system, and then to the LIS Tube Journey See the VersaCell X3 solution with IMMULITE system connectivity in action.   Select the play arrow to begin the video.    When complete, select the X in the upper-right-hand corner to close the window and continue.   Startup features unique to the connection of a VersaCell X3 system to an IMMULITE system: On the IMMULITE system screen, a “Received Reinitialize 1” message indicates that communication has been established with the VersaCell X3 system.
