You should only shut down the system in case of an emergency. If the power has been turned off, turn the power back on by opening the cabinet door and pressing the system on/off switch. Select each checkbox to learn more about starting the system.  Select VersaCell X3 iconHTML On the Windows desktop, double-select the VersaCell X3 icon to initialize the VersaCell X3 system software.  Sign in with user nameHTML At the Sign In screen, it is optional to enter your User Name. The User Name can be any combination of alpha and numeric characters.  You can sign in as Operator or Lab Manager. Each user has different privileges. No password is required for Operator sign in; a password is required for Lab Manager. To sign into the software, select the Sign In button.  Select the Run iconHTML To begin processing sample tubes, select the Run icon.  Start connected systemsHTML You may start the VersaCell X3 system first, or start the connected instruments first. To start and initialize the connected instruments, follow the instructions in the appropriate manual for that system. At the VersaCell X3 Home screen, ensure that the connected systems are in the Run state, indicated by a green arrow beneath the instrument icon. When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.   The VersaCell X3 system software should be signed off and shut down each day. Green checkmarks in the upper-left corner of the drawer status indicators on the Home screen indicate that all samples have been aspirated and returned. Select each checkbox to learn more about signing off and shutting down the system.  Perform daily shutdown on connected systemsHTML Perform the daily shutdown procedure for the connected instruments, as appropriate. See the operator's manuals for the connected instruments to verify the shutdown frequency.  Remove all tubesHTML Select the green button beneath the standard drawers or to the right of the 8-position priority drawer to unlock the drawer. When the green button light turns solid green, pull the drawer open and remove the tubes.  Sign off the systemHTML On the Status Bar, select the sign off icon.   Select ShutdownHTML At the Sign On screen, select Shutdown. A message displays: Are You Sure You Want to Shut down the System? Select Yes. When shut down is complete, the Windows desktop displays. When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.   The following are as needed maintenance tasks for the VersaCell X3 system: Wipe up spills Clean the keyboard Replace the o-rings Wipe Up Spills Learn how to wipe up spills in the drawers and in the interface wheel. Tab TitleTextStandard Drawers To clean the standard drawers: Open the drawers and remove the racks. Decontaminate drawers and racks using surface disinfectant and a damp cloth. Priority Drawer  To clean the priority drawer rack: Open the priority drawer. Loosen the two thumbscrews on the priority drawer rack. Lift up the priority drawer rack to remove it. Decontaminate the priority drawer and rack using surface disinfectant and a damp cloth. Reinstall the priority drawer rack. Tighten the two thumbscrews.  Interface Wheel To clean the interface wheel: Ensure that the system is in the Stop state and then select the Unlock Door icon. Open an accessible interface wheel door. Unscrew the pipette cover, if appropriate. Unscrew the wheel knob. Lift the interface wheel straight up to clear the shaft and pull it toward you. Dispose of any excess liquid and wipe using a clean dry cloth. Use a general purpose cleaner or disinfectant if necessary.  Do not use bleach. Completely dry the interface wheel. Reinstall the interface wheel by aligning the wheel on the shaft and spin the wheel so that it drops down on the pin. Tighten the wheel knob. Replace the pipette cover if appropriate. Close and lock the interface wheel door.   When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue. Clean the Keyboard Learn how to clean the keyboard. The VersaCell X3 system keyboard is not removable. To clean the keyboard: Press the Lock button on the keyboard. Wipe the keyboard surface with a non-toxic solution. Press the Lock button to unlock the keyboard. When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.   Replace the o-rings Learn how to replace the o-rings.   If the media does not automatically start, select the play arrow to begin.    When complete, select the X in the upper-right-hand corner to close the window and continue.
