From the Second Menu, use STORED INFORMATION options to access results and statistics stored in the RAPIDPoint 300 Systems. For example you can view stored data for patient and QC results and QC reference limits. You can also access data for the last calibration as well as reagent module statistics. Let’s take a closer look at stored results and statistics. The VERSANT® kPCR Molecular System consists of the following: Sample Preparation (SP) Module and computer The SP module performs the nucleic acid isolation and purification steps. Autoload Tray A tray that extends from the front of the deck with track markings to assist the carrier placement.  The Autoload tray is divided into 30 tracks along with etched deck symbols. Samples, reagents, and consumables are loaded onto the Autoload tray in carriers at specific track positions.  Deck The enclosed work surface of the instrument is divided into 30 tracks.  Samples, reagents, and consumables are loaded onto the deck in carriers at specific track positions by the autoloader.    Barcode Reader The onboard barcode reader automatically scans the carriers, reagents, and consumable barcodes during a run for positive identification. Base ImageHotspotsText BlocksImage File Carriers Each carrier occupies a designated track position on the deck of the instrument.  There are removable carriers and a fixed position carrier.  Heater/Shaker Unit The SP Module uses one heater shaker unit. Magnetic Separator The SP Module has a single Magnetic separator that the DWP is temporally positioned on during a protocol. Waste Assembly The assembly consists of the following: Liquid waste trough and tip eject plate Liquid waste container Solid waste container iSWAP Transports the 2-ml DWP(s) and/or the 96-well PCR plate (s) to and from required processing locations depending on the protocol selected.Pipetting Channels There are eight Pipetting channels that work in parallel for simultaneous transfer of liquids. The deck of the SP module consists of carriers that are removable and a single carrier in a fixed position. There are five positions on this carrier but only two positions are currently used for reagents. 5The Control Carrier contains reagents used by the SP Module. The Control Carrier holds assay-specific reagents in the appropriate positions and Proteinase K in position 32. Note: The Control carrier is the same as a 32-Position Sample Carrier, but is used with special adapters because the controls are in 2 ml tubes. Cyanide gas may result from this mixture. Do not dispose of anything containing Guanidine Thiocyanate in the sink.  Waste containing Guanidine Thiocyanate should only be disposed of in a chemical waste container.   Download and print a copy of the SP Maintenance Checklist. Line the solid waste container with a new biohazard bag and place the solid waste container back on the system.  Dispose of the biohazard bag according to your laboratory and local regulatory protocols. Depending on the Protocol selected, there may be additional assay specific reagents that may also need to be removed. Note: Any remaining reagents that you wish to keep should be capped and returned to the recommended temperature conditions.  Discard all used reagents and troughs (liquid and solid waste)  according to the practices of your institution and in compliance with all local and regulatory requirements.
