VF10 Using Virtual Workstation Job Aid

This job aid is performance support for how to configure and operate the virtual workstation. This learning object applies to all systems running on the VF10 software, including the Multitom Rax, Ysio Max, Luminos dRF Max,  and Uroskop Omina Max.

Using Virtual Workstation Job Aid VF10 Software Upgrade Target Group  IT Administrators Application  If licensed, it is possible to start a Windows 10® Virtual Machine  Enables access to a RIS client, a PACS client, EMR application, or image postprocessing software using the same monitor  Saves space by eliminating the need for an additional monitor  To ensure that the modality has no performance problems, there are the following re- source limitations: o One core on the CPU, 4GB of RAM and disc space o No access to external devices like a printer or USB memory stick via the modality (except the DVD drive) o No memory is configurable in user settings Configuration  Configure the DNS server of the institution in order to use the Virtual Workstation as a RIS/PACS terminal o Open the Windows Settings of the guest system o Select Network & Internet o Click Ethernet and then Change adapter options o Double-click Ethernet 3 (name of the Ethernet adapter for the guest system) o Select Properties on the General tab card o Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) on the Networking tab card and open it by clicking on Properties o On the General tab card, select Use the following DNS server addresses Then, fill in the address of the DNS server o Note: Do not change the IP address, Subnet mask, or Default gateway SIEMENS Healthineers Effective Date: 10/01/2018 | HOOD05162002943944 Job Aid | Virtual Workstation Effective Date: 10/01/2018 | HOOD05162002943944  When clicking on the button for the virtual machine, the integrated Windows 10 window opens when the 3rd party software is available 1. Open User Settings 2. In the configuration for Virtual Machine install mode, select the device for access to the virtual machine 3. The VW could also be used to access the Siemens Internet Application Training Services (i.e. PEPconnect) Operation  Installation, Administration, Security, and Maintenance of the client operating system inside the virtual machine is the facility’s responsibility  Non-mobile systems are nearly identical to mobile systems except: o Access to the internal/external DVD drives and USB memory is possible o A mouse and keyboard are used instead of a touch screen  Virtual machine can only be started in Patient Mode  CAUTION! o Different patients could be displayed on the system and in the virtual workstation o Always check the patient name before making entries or changing parameters o Confirm that entry or parameter changes are made as expected when both systems are in use  Restart o If the virtual machine performance is slow, restart the virtual machine o Navigate to Power > Restart in the normal “Start” button in guest Windows 10® Siemens Healthineers Services Page 2 of 3 © Siemens Healthcare GmbH, 2017 Job Aid | Virtual Workstation Effective Date: 10/01/2018 | HOOD05162002943944 Please note that the learning material is for training purposes only!
