Welcome to the Urinalysis WAM Software Overview Online Training course. This course will introduce you to the location and navigation of the Urinalysis WAM (Work Area Manager) software. This software application manages results from both the CLINITEK Novus™ analyzer and the Sysmex UF-1000i™ analyzer before the results are transmitted to the laboratory information system. Results from the CLINITEK Novus analyzer are located in: Main Menu > Recall/Delete Results on the CLINITEK Novus analyzer  Urinalysis WAM software Select Next to continue. Note: If audio does not automatically start, select the play arrow in the top left to begin.The CLINITEK Novus runs samples and then sends the results to the urinalysis WAM. Sample results are available in the CLINITEK Novus software and in the Urinalysis WAM. 2Sysmex UF-1000i to WAM When the sample ID is read at the UF-1000i analyzer the options are to query the WAM for a workorder or to run all samples regardless of whether a workorder exits. The Sysmex UF-1000i analyzer results are located in the following software: IPU (Information Processing Unit) Urinalysis WAM Select Next to continue.When the sample ID is read at the UF-1000i analyzer the WAM is queried to locate a workorder. If the workorder does exist the sample is run on the UF-1000i analyzer. If the workorder does not exist the sample will not be run on the system. Results for the UF-1000i are located in the IPU and in the Urinalysis WAM software.3WAM to LIS All results pass through the WAM software to the LIS. Result validation can be performed in either the: WAM software or LIS  When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue. The Urinalysis WAM sends the results to the LIS. The results are validated either in WAM before sending them to the LIS or at the LIS. Your system will be setup for one or the other. The Urinalysis WAM software is an application running on the same computer as the UF-1000i software. Open WAM and then log on to view the functions available the Urinalysis WAM.  Navigate the software by using: A title bar with drop down menus A menu bar with operational buttons Fast button icons for routine functions Function keys to perform specific operations  Select Next to continue.     Query Order is located on the main menu screen in the WAM software. The functions available in Query include: Search for a sample ID View the sample ID status Print a consolidated report View and/or print a pending list Resend a sample ID to the LIS Query Orders Learn about the various functions in Query Order. There are multiple columns of patient data including sample id, patient name, demographics and sample status. The columns on the right, display the status of results according to the results status color legend located on the bottom right corner. Below the data display are the buttons used to print or resend results.3 Query Order   Patient Data Select the column header to sort results Select check boxes in the Sel All to identify samples to print or resend Identify the status of results on the R-ST column Use the selp bar to view results R-St column Result Status: 0 - a sample was ordered but not run 1 - a sample was run but not validated 4 - the sample is validated and waiting to be transmitted to the LIS 5 - the sample was transmitted to the LIS Select Next to continue. The check boxes on the left are selected to identify those samples that are to be printed or resent to the LIS. The status of the results is displayed with a number in the R-st column. Earlier in the course you learned that a zero indicates a sample that was ordered but not run, a one indicates a sample that was run but not validated, a four indicates the sample is validated and waiting to be transmitted to the LIS, and a five indicates that the sample was transmitted to the LIS. Identifying the status of a sample is important when trying to locate sample results that did not cross over to the LIS. The selp bar is used to view sample results.4 Query Order Data Display Select a row of data to view status of results related to that sample Yellow highlighting indicates the row selected  Select Next to continue.   Image: screen capture of query right columns The data display identifies the status of the sample results by the color coding used. Grey indicates which sample results were validated. A white background indicates the results that are either pending or waiting to be validated.5 Query Order   Print/Resend Options Print List of Selection Print Results of Selection Resend Selection to LIS  Select Next to continue. The print list of selection can be used to print a pending list of samples. Resend a sample to the LIS if the results for a sample need to be retransmitted. The samples to print or send are determined by the checkboxes selected. The resend to instrument is not used.6 Query Order   Result Status Color Legend indicates the status of results for a selected sample. When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue. The legend indicates the color coding used to indicate the status of the results. The h's and L's for high and low results are not commonly used. Access to the WAM software is available by selecting either: Start from the Start Menu and then WAM or The WAM icon on the desktop Access the UA WAM Software Learn about accessing the Urinalysis WAM software. It may take a few seconds for the user interface to appear. Another option is to select the WAM icon directly on the desktop. Check the task bar to confirm there is only one WAM session open.2 Accessing the WAM software   Log on to WAM using: Username: usr  Password: wam When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue. Log on to WAM by typing in lower case u s r as the username in the small field of the user name and w a m as the password. The software displays the username in capital letters.
