xSPECT Quant Sensitivity and Cross Calibration Procedure video

Welcome to the Expecte Quant sensitivity cross calibration procedure, step by step. In this video tutorial of performing the expec Quant sensitivity, cross calibration procedures for your symbyax scanner. This step by step procedure will guide you in performing sensitivity and cross calibration procedures necessary for accurate quantification of expecte studies. What you will need? Before you begin the calibration procedures, you will need to have the following available. The Cobalt 57 expec calibration peaking source kit, which is used with the LEHR&LPHR collimators. This kit contains a peaking source, the precision Cobalt 57 source in its shield, and the dose calibrater source Holder. Note if your scanner has automatic quality control, your kit will not have the peaking source. You will use the automatic you see source installed in your table to peak the system. If you are performing the expec want with medium energy collimator's, you will need the selenium 75 expec calibration peaking source kit. It also contains a peaking source. The precision Silentium source in its shield and the dose calibrater source Holder. Lastly, if you are performing the cross calibration, you will need a cross calibration source. Cross calibration is a sensitivity calibration using a point source of the respective clinical isotope measured in the dose calibrater. To prepare the point source. Use an amount of activity that is closest possible to the recommended range. Insert the isotope into the comb portion of the file. The activity should yield 5 to 30 kill accounts per second. Approximate activities do yield to this count rate are one to five millicuries of activity. For technetium 99 M Indium 111. And iodine 123. You will need approximately 10 to 30 mil acuris of Lutetium 177. When preparing the point source, do not overfill the vial or splash activity on the sides. Installing the Peking source. The first step to acquiring the expec want calibration is to Mount the Peking soars an peak the system. Both the Peking source an the calibration source attached to the integrated source Holder to install the Peaky source. First unscrew the vial Holder cap from the end of the integrated source Holder by turning it counterclockwise. Next, loosen the thumb screw on the top of the Peking source by turning it counterclockwise. Slide the peaking source over the end of the integrated source Holder, and then turn the thumb screw clockwise to tighten it. Remove the calibration source from the scan room while performing the peaking procedure to prevent calibration source scatter from interfering in the peaking process. Peking the system. Next, on the single MI Apps acquisition Workstation, Select the patient an launched the sensitivity calibration workflow. When the workflow propagates to the static acquisition activity, select the Analyzer tab. Select the isotope that you using for calibration from the select existing preset menu. Click the begin Peaky button and wait for the system to peak. When the Peking is complete, remove the Peking source and install the appropriate collimators. Precision source registration. The next step of this procedure is to enter a precise source registration. You only have to do this step the first time the source is used. Go to the Analyzer tab and select the source management tab. Select the entry type of source that you're using from the entry type pull down menu. Next, enter the free text label, which is usually the serial number on the source. Then enter the dose information. For this you will need to use the system apparent activity on the source label. Navigate to the series Information tab and go to the calibration source pull down menu. Select the precision source that you are using. Dose calibrater registration. If you are performing a dose calibrater cross calibration, you need to enter the name of the dose calibrater in the label field in the source management tab, press save. Also make sure you have the correct isotope selected in the camera parameters tab. Before acquiring the calibration, make sure that the dose calibrater selection is made in the label dropdown menu. Installing the precision point source. The next step is to install the precision calibration source. To install the calibration source, remove it from the shield container. Then screw it into the end of the integrated source Holder by turning it clockwise. The active element is contained in the sphere at the point at end of the calibration source. Position the active element over the center of the detectors. Installing the cross calibration source. If you are acquiring a dose calibrater cross calibration, insert the point source of the isotope into the end of the integrated source Holder. The activity is located at the end of the vial. Position the bottom of the vial over the center of the detectors. Verify that the count rate is between 5 and 30 kill accounts per second per detector. Prepare an start acquisition. Now you need to prepare and start the acquisition. On the acquisition tab, click the Prepare button. A message will appear telling you that the emotion of the detectors is going to be initiated. Make sure that it is safe to do so and click OK. Then press the start button. The calibration will acquire when finished, the workflow will propagate to the sensitivity calibration activity. Review the sensitivity calibration activity. The sensitivity calibration activity processes the calibration data. In this activity you should review the sensitivity processing results, which includes the patient collimator, isotope presets, and crystal thickness. From the photo, peek pull down menu, select a photo peak. Images An results from the calibration data are displayed for each detector an the selected photo peak. For each detector, the measured sensitivity results are displayed. If the results of the calibration are acceptable, click accept these calibrations and make them current button to save the calibration results. The sensitivity calculation activity updates the calibration database an the internal quality monitors assessable by service. The workflow proceeds to the next activity. Or if the results are not acceptable, click reject these calibrations and use existing set button to not save the results. The calibration database is not updated. Click the complete button on the workflow an the image data is saved into the database. Remove the calibration source and retract the source Holder. Review the sensitivity calibration dashboard. A calibration dashboard is available on the Series Information tab to show available calibration for collimators and presets. Your expected want sensitivity cross calibration procedure is now complete.
