Prostate Exam Set-up:  Patient orientated on table  Head > First > Supine  Center on two spine coil elements Coils - various coil combinations that can used for a prostate  exam:  body-array  body-matrix coil  body 18 (OR)  body-array + endo-coil  body-matrix coil + endo-coil  body 18 + endo-coil 2. Prostate Exam Localization:  Acquire a 3 Plane Localizer:  Note: Center on Prostate in all three plane 3. T2 TSE High Resolution Sequences:  Note: Use T2 TSE High Resolution images to check placement of Endo- rectal coil Acquire T2 TSE Coronal:   Angle to long axis of Prostate SIEMENS ww.usa.siemens.com/healthcare Page 1 of 4 306 Effective Date: 09/08/2016 Acquire T2 TSE Axial:   Angle to Short axis of Prostate 4. Select > CSI 3D_SE Sequence:  VOI large enough to cover prostate gland in all three directions 5. Select > View > Reference Lines:  Displays position of one localizer on the other two imaging planes 6. Select > Image segment that displays mid portion of prostate (Axial) for VOI positioning:  Right mouse on Axial image: Select > Copy Image Position:   Note: CSI sequence must be open in imaging queue  Note: Positions VOI in the same orientation and table position as the reference image SIEMENS ww.usa.siemens.com/healthcare Page 2 of 4 7. Position voxel over area of interest: Select > Scroll > Nearest:   Note: Finds intersecting planes of all 3 localizers or routine images  Note: voxel can be square, rectangle, and angled Ensure Voxel is a “Solid box”:  Solid Box – indicates the voxel has intersection in all 3 imaging  planes  Dotted Box – indicates displayed voxel is in front of or behind selected imaging plane 8. Saturation Band Placement Order:  Note: Sat bands should effectively eliminate any lipid contamination wrapping into Spectroscopy data sets  Note: Order of Saturation band placement is only necessary if the endorectal coil is used  Axial Sat Band Placement:  #1 – Posterior to VOI  #2 – Posterior Sagittal to Coronal Oblique angled to VOI  #3 – Posterior Sagittal to Coronal Oblique angled to VOI  Sagittal Sat Band Placement:  #4 – Superior to VOI  #5 – Inferior to VOI SIEMENS www.usa.siemens.com/healthcare Page 3 of 4 Axial Sat Band Placement:   #6 – Anterior Sagittal to Coronal Oblique angled to VOI  #7 – Anterior Sagittal to Coronal Oblique angled to VOI Sagittal Sat Band Placement:   #8 – Anterior to VOI 9.
