ADVIA Centaur® XP Immunoassay System Additional Worklist Functions Online Training

Additional worklist functions includes scheduling repeats, replicates, and dilutions. This clinical laboratory training qualifies for continuing education units (CEU).

Welcome to the ADVIA Centaur®  XP Immunoassay System Additional Worklist Functions Online Training course.  After processing tests on the initial sample, it may be necessary to repeat a test to validate the original result. In addition, it may be necessary to dilute a sample because the results are beyond the linear range of the method. These procedures will be discussed in this course. Select Next to review the course objectives. Add and review patient demographics Create test profiles Schedule dilutions Schedule repeat tests and replicate tests After completing this course, you will be able to: Select Next to continue. Congratulations. You have completed the ADVIA Centaur® XP Immunoassay System Additional Worklist Functions Online Training course. Listed below are the key points that have been presented.  Take time to review the material before you proceed to the final quiz.  In this online training course, you have learned to: Schedule dilutions System-performed, manual dilutions and dilution profiles are ordered in the Worklist Schedule window. System-performed dilutions are performed by the instrument using an onboard diluent. Dilution profiles are created in the Profile Summary window in the Setup section of the software. Schedule repeats and replicates Repeats are ordered in the Worklist Summary window by selecting the Repeat button. Replicates are ordered in the Worklist Schedule window by selecting the Reagent Options button.    Create test profiles Test profiles are created in the Profile Summary window in the Setup section of the software.   Add and review patient demographics Demographics can be added to a patient order in the Worklist Schedule window by using the Demographics button. Select Next to continue.   Sample Dilutions Automatic Dilutions – Setup in the software to automatically schedule a dilution if the original result is greater than the concentration limit System-Performed – Dilution performed by the system using an onboard diluent and scheduled in the Worklist Schedule window Manual Dilutions – Dilution prepared on the bench and scheduled in the Worklist Schedule window Dilution Profile – Multiple dilutions scheduled for a test Note: You must dilute all samples with the correct ADVIA Centaur® XP diluent specified for each test.  Refer to the assay Instructions for Use (IFU) for more information. Checklist TitleChecklist TypeChecklist ContentManually dilute sampleHTML If the patient result exceeds the linearity of the assay with the highest system-performed dilution, you may need to schedule a system-performed dilution on a manually diluted sample.  This most commonly occurs with ThCG.   Note:  Check the Procedural Notes in the IFU of the assay to determine if this type of dilution combination is acceptable.   Begin by manually diluting the patient samples with the appropriate diluent. Do not use the diluent that is currently on the system.   Select each checkbox to learn about scheduling system-performed and manual dilutions.  Schedule the testHTML Open the Worklist Schedule window. Enter a unique SID in the SID field (ex. M544x2). Select the assay.  Schedule Manual DilutionHTML Select the Dilutions button. Enter the manual dilution factor in the Manual Dilution field.  Schedule System-performed DilutionHTML Select Diluted Only from the Dilution Options drop-down menu. Select the system-performed dilution factor from the Dilution drop-down menu. Select Continue.  Press SaveHTML Press the Save button.  Open Worklist SummaryHTML Open the Worklist Summary to review your order.  Notice the droplets on the left, to indicate the manual dilution, and the right, indicating a system-performed dilution.
