Welcome to the ADVIA Centaur® XP Immunoassay System Processing and Managing Samples Online Training course.  In this course, you will learn how to process patient samples using the LIS and schedule patients if the LIS is not operational.  You will also learn how to review patient results and print reports to keep for your records. Note: To avoid sample misidentification, enter an SID in the SID field.  The SID can be any combination of alphanumeric characters.  View Worklist Summary WindowHTML Use the Worklist Summary to confirm the accuracy of the entry. When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.    Processing Routine Samples: Load racks onto the Sample Entry Queue Press the Start button to begin system initialization The system status changes from Ready to Inprocess Racks are loaded into the Inprocess Queue and processing begins Use the Worklist Summary to review samples in process Use the Sample Status window to address samples without barcodes or orders When sampling is complete, racks are loaded into the Exit Queue Process Routine Samples Select this link to learn about processing routine samples. Select each checkbox to learn more about processing routine samples.  Press StartHTML Press the Start button to initialize the instrument.  The magnetic belt under the sample entry queue will begin to turn and move the sample racks to the right.  Samples Enter Inprocess QueueHTML The sample racks are loaded into the Inprocess Queue where sampling will begin.  The sample probe will use disposable tips to aspirate sample from the racks.  View Worklist Summary WindowHTML Open the Worklist Summary window to review the orders of the samples you just loaded.  As processing begins, a time due will appear on the worklist.   View Sample Status WindowHTML If the Sample Status button starts blinking yellow, open the window to determine sample errors.  The window lists all samples that are currently in the Inprocess Queue.  Samples with errors will be highlighted yellow.  Errors may include:  No Barcode No Request Clot Detected Insufficient Integrity Error Note:  For more information about sample status flags, refer to the ADVIA Centaur® XP Operator’s Guide.   Samples Placed in Exit QueueHTML When samples have completed processing, they are removed from the Inprocess Queue and placed in the Exit Queue. Select Results Report. Enter the starting and ending dates, view and sort. Select Print Report.  Print Maintenance LogHTML You can print a report of either the scheduled maintenance for the system or the maintenance log. Select Maintenance. Select the Schedule or Log. If you selected log, enter the starting and ending dates. Select Print Report. When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.    Processing STAT patient samples: LIS - STAT orders received are given priority over routine samples STAT Entry - Samples are given priority over samples loaded onto the Sample Entry Queue STAT button in Worklist Schedule - Enter the SID and select the STAT button Processing STAT Samples Select this link to learn how to process STAT samples. Select next to continue.2STAT button in Worklist Schedule Create a new order: Open the Worklist Schedule window Enter the SID Press Enter on the keyboard Select the STAT button Select tests Press Save  Edit an existing order: Open the Worklist Summary window Select the order Press the Schedule button Select the STAT button Press Save Select Next to continue. STAT samples can also be scheduled manually in the Worklist Schedule window. You can either edit an existing order or create a new one. To create a new STAT order, open the Worklist Schedule window. Enter the accession number in the SID field and press enter on the keyboard. Select the STAT button and then choose the tests to be processed. Finally, press the Save button to store your STAT order. To edit an existing order, select the order in the worklist summary and press the Schedule button. Select the STAT button to the right of the Rack field and press save. Select next to continue.3STATs in Worklist Summary: STATs are flagged with an exclamation point (!) STATs view can be used to see only STAT orders   Tip: When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.Stats in the worklist summary are flagged by an exclamation point to the left of the SID.
