Highlights and Install Notes Windows 10 OS Conversion Migration from Windows 7 to Windows 10 Product Security Due to Operating system changes, an updated security white paper will be available before year end Installation Must be performed by Siemens Service. Please contact Siemens technical support to schedule the installation Highlights and Install Notes The major change with this release is the migration from windows 7 to windows 10. A Certificate of Authenticity will be applied by the service engineer when the conversion to Windows 10 is complete. Additional product security requirements have addressed security vulnerabilities. The latest security patches from Microsoft will be applied. Due to the operating system changes, an updated security white paper will be available before the end of the year. This is a mandatory installation which will be performed by service to ensure you continue to use the Microsoft supported operating system. New Procedures In this new release there are several new procedures on the system. Select the tab arrows on the right to learn more about these: Expanded Operator Diagnostics Invalidate a Calibration IM Tip Drip Tray Maintenance Expanded Operator Diagnostics Invalidate a Calibration IM Tip Drip Tray Maintenance New Procedures Main Layer Audio: On the system there are three new procedures we will discuss on this slide. First, we have Expanded Operator Diagnostic tools, by adding diagnostic routines for Sample Handler, Sample Handler Connect and Magline which gives you the ability to resolve more issues. Second, the ability to invalidate a current active calibration so that it will no longer be used for patient testing. This makes it easier to troubleshoot and possibly have less recalibrations. And third, directions are provided for IM Pipette Tip Drip Tray maintenance. The operator should inspect the area weekly and clean as needed. This prevents dry serum build up and possible sample tip ejection errors, resulting in sample tips lying outside of the exit chute. Select the tab arrows on the right to learn more about these new procedures. Expanded Operator Diagnostics Audio: In System operator diagnostics new troubleshooting activities are available for the SH, SHC, and Magline Transport. This table shows those activities and an example. Invalidate a Calibration Audio: When you do not want an active valid calibration to be used for patient testing, you can now Invalidate the calibration, which may help you avoid unnecessary recalibrations. For example, you could use this function if the QC performed after the calibration was not acceptable, even though the calibration was valid. Select the play button to see how to invalidate a calibration. IM Tip Dip Tray Maintenance Audio: A maintenance activity has been added to inspect the Pipette Tip Dip Tray on the IM weekly and clean as needed to help avoid tip ejection errors. IM Tip Drip Tray Maintenance For the IM, a maintenance activity has been added for the operator to inspect the Pipette Tip Drip Tray weekly and clean as needed. This practice will help avoid tip ejection errors. For more information please refer to the Cleaning the IM Sample Tip Drip Tray Video on PEPConnect. Note: Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course Some points to note when you invalidate calibration results: Calibration could have been valid for any period of time and used for results Cannot make it active again Requires a comment from user Reverts to any previously acceptable/viable calibration No restriction when this can be performed for order state, system state Adds to audit trail Invalidate a Calibration Note: Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course Play In System Operator Diagnostics, the process control modules VMM, SH and SHC each offer new activities to be used for troubleshooting. The table shows all the new activities and an example of when you use each one. Enter Diagnostics Select Activity Select Perform Follow the screens to complete the activity Exit Diagnostics Expanded Operator Diagnostic Tools Note: Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course Display Changes Status Light System Status Light (dome Light) located on primary display will now turn red when an archive location needs to be emptied QC Statistics Charts System serial number added to the chart display Partially Expired QC Use System will now use QC material for the remaining assays (even if the material is expired for other assays) Tablet Status Battery power status of the operator tablet is now shown in Install Manager window IMT Advanced Clean When IMT supplies are being replaced, there is a clear reminder to perform this procedure Display Changes Here we will discuss display changes. The system status light will now turn red when a full archive location rack needs to be replaced or an archive location rack needs to be added to maintain throughput. QC statistic charts are improved. The system serial number displays for easier tracking of QC results. Partially expired QC use is enhanced. QC material with one or more tests that have expired stability are handled differently. The system will now use QC material for the remaining assays, even if the material is expired for other assays. This helps to reduce waste of QC material. The battery power status of the operator tablet is now shown in the Install Manager window so it is easier to do a power check before starting software upgrades. The IMT Advanced Clean Message is improved. When IMT Supplies are being replaced, the system clearly reminds you to perform the IMT Advanced Clean procedure before replacing the sensor. Good to Know These items are good to know but do not impact your operator instructions Select the tab arrows on the right to learn more about these items: Reagent Level Detection Optimization Stored Calibrators and QC routing Reagent Inventory Rescans IM Daily and Weekly Maintenance Enhanced Reagent Level Detection Optimization Stored Calibrators and QC Routing Reagent Inventory Rescans IM Daily and Weekly Maintenance Enhanced Good to Know Good to Know Audio: These items are good to know but do not impact operator instructions. Select the tab arrows on the right to learn more about these items. Reagent Level Detection Optimization Audio: CH Reagent level detection has been optimized and when an error exists an auto correction routine occurs. You will see improvement in the areas listed here. Stored Calibrators and QC are Routed Once Audio. Now the system will aspirate for multiple assay calibrations and QC from the same tube allowing one tube route when an order is made for multiple analytes using the same cal and QC. This creates fewer transitions between both refrigerated storage and the carriers. Reagent Inventory Rescans Audio: Now the CH Analyzer will automatically initiate a rescan of the reagent inventory carousels whenever an interruption occurs. The inventory stays up to date without any intervention by the operator. IM Daily and Weekly Maintenance Enhanced Audio: The table shown explains the differences in time, details of the cleaning actions and the outcome of the waste concentration for the different Enhanced Maintenance options. IM Daily and Weekly Maintenance Enhanced Additional cleanings are designed to break up waste clumps that potentially lead to clogging in the waste pump. Your Siemens Service team will select and configure the best options for each IM analyzer based on laboratory schedule, menu and volume of testing. The Standard DCP is 28 minutes and the Standard WCP is 37 minutes Note: Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course Note: Review and adjust your daily maintenance schedule as needed based on the wash selected in order to avoid potential maintenance timing conflicts. Reagent Inventory Rescans The CH Analyzer will now automatically initiate a rescan of the reagent inventory carousels whenever it gets interrupted. This means the reagent inventory will stay up to date without operator interventions. Note: Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course The system will aspirate for multiple assay calibrations and QC in one route per order. This means using less carriers for each calibration and therefore, fewer transitions between refrigerated storage and the carriers. Stored Calibrators and QC Routing Note: Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course The CH Reagent Level Detection has been optimized and an auto-correction routine has been implemented when errors do happen. You will see improvements in a few areas: Reduced troubleshooting for reagent probe errors Less interventions to repeat samples Reduced service visits for probes and level detection issues Reagent Level Detection Optimization Note: Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course Note: this was first available in 1.23.1.SP2 Please note that the learning material is for training purposes only!
