This online training describes the purpose of the syngo® Patient Browser, explains how to access the Patient Browser, identifies the patient databases and data levels, and demonstrates how to filter, sort, transfer, archive and delete patient data in the database. 

Welcome to the Biograph Patient Browser Online Training course. This course will provide an overview of the syngo Patient Browser. Element HTML Local Database: The system stores all patient and examination data in a large local database.   Scheduler: This database contains all patients who have been pre-registered.  The content switches to a special list and displays all patients scheduled.   Local Archive: This icon represents the selected external drive CD or DVD. 123 Sound File Audio ScriptThe types of databases are symbolized on the left-hand side of the navigation area. When a specific database icon is selected, the contents are displayed in the content area of the browser. The Local Database contains all of the patient data and the examination data on the large local database. The Scheduler contains all of the patients that have been pre-registered, for example from the HIS or RIS. There is also a Local Archive icon that is labeled by a DVD or CD, representing the external archive device that is inserted into the drive. Data Levels Learn about data levels. Element HTML3 Levels of data in the Local Database: Patient Level Study Level Series Level When the Series level is selected, image stamps or files will display at the bottom of the screen. These are called instances. Sound File Audio ScriptThere are three levels of data in the local database.   The first level is the Patient Level.  The Patient Level contains all of the studies or visits the patient has had in your department. When the Patient level is selected, the studies folder will appear.     The second level is the Study Level. The Study level contains all of the data that is associated with that particular exam.  When selected, the Series for that study will display.  A series consists of an individual acquisition, reconstruction job, or post processing dataset associated with that exam.   When the series is selected, image stamps or files will appear in the Content area at the bottom of the screen. These are called Instances. Instances are images or slices. When the Patient folder is selected, it will appear as opened. When the Study folder is selected, the icon will appear to have a file sticking out of the top of the Study folder. When the Series is selected, it is highlighted in blue. Double click the selected series to access the instances. The following tasks are involved with managing patient data: Exporting Importing Sending Deleting   To configure export series types: Select Options > Configuration > PET Examination > Export Series Types Check series types for export Note: Series types will be automatically populated when PET/CT Export Tool is launched but they can be manually changed.    Exporting Patient Data to a CD/DVD Learn about exporting patient data to a CD/DVD. To export patient data to a CD/DVD: Insert a blank CD/DVD into the syngo Acquisition Workplace Select the desired data series in the patient browser Transfer > Export To... within the Patient Browser menu Click Export Type the appropriate name in the label on Medium field within the Enter Label window Click OK to export the patient data from the workstation to the CD/DVD Via PET/CT Data Tool To export patient data to a CD/DVD using the PET/CT Export Data Tool: Insert a blank CD/DVD into the syngo Acquisition Workplace Select the desired data series within the browser Select Patient > Export PET/CT Data within the Patient Browser menu - or - Select the Export PET/CT Data button within the Patient Browser The PET/CT Export Tool window appears with the selected patient data populated Select H:\SiteData\CDBurn Click Export (export anonymously if desired) Select Options > File Browser Clear all jobs in the local and network queues  Select Transfer > Record Offline Files Note: there is an option to include a DICOM Viewer Exporting Patient Data to a USB Learn about exporting patient data to a USB. To export patient data to a USB: Open Patient Browser and insert a USB into the syngo Acquisition Workplace Select the desired data series within the browser Select Patient > Export PET/CT Data within the Patient Browser menu - or -  Select the Export PET/CT Data button within the Patient Browser Select the USB name from the Path drop-down menu Click Export and the PET/CT Export Data Tool closes automatically Monitor the status of the export via Transfer > Local Job Status The status of the job will change from Active to Completed Safely Eject the USB To import patient data: Open the Patient Browser Select the applicable PET Data Click the Import PET/CT Data button - or -  Select Patient  Select Import PET/CT Data to open the PET/CT Import Data Tool Click Import   Prior to deleting any data, ensure the data has been archived.  For online archiving of DICOM images and data to a network node such as a PACS terminal, data can be transferred manually or automatically For offline archiving on external media, the system is equipped with a DVD recorder to store data on USB devices. Data stored on external media or drives can be reimported at any time To delete patient data: Open the Patient Browser Select the date to delete Choose Edit > Delete or select the Delete button Select Yes to confirm   To send data through the Network: Select the patient, study, series, or images in the Patient Browser Select Transfer > Send To or click the Toolbar button Select a Network Node from the list Click Send   Sort options available are determined by the current selection: To sort patient level data, click on the Local Database icon on the left side of the Patient Browser To sort study level data, first click on the Patient level that contains the study data that you want to sort To sort series level data, first click on the Study that contains the series data you want to sort Once the desired level is determined, click on the Sort drop-down from the patient browser to view the available sort option.   To apply an existing filter: Select the data level to apply the filter Select the Filter menu at the top of the screen Select one of the available filters To create a new filter: Select Options > Filter Settings To remove the filter: Select the data level then click Filter > Off   Applying Filters Learn about conditions for applying filters.
