CardioFreeeze Intro Job Aid Biograph™ mCT & Biograph Vision™ Description: CardioFreeze™ is an option for new systems. Customers licensed with HD•Cardiac that upgrade to the VG70 version will be upgraded to CardioFreeze at no addition charge. The material in this Job Aid applies to Biograph™ mCT (VG70) and Biograph Vision™ systems. CardioFreeze reduces image blur from both cardiac and respiratory motion by utilizing 100% of the counts in the reconstruction of each gate. CardioFreeze uses the image data to extract the patient’s breathing pattern, requiring only the ECG trigger for gating both the heartbeat and the respiratory movement. CardioFreeze allows for 24 times more counts in each frame to improve the signal to noise ratio and image quality. 1. Connect the ECG leads to the patient depending on your region. A respiratory triggering device is not necessary. 2. Choose the CardiacGatedMFL protocol. There are three potential replay types:  Cardiac – conventional cardiac gating  CardioFreeze Single – cardiac gating with 100% of the counts in each gate  CardioFreeze Dual – cardiac gating with respiratory motion correction and with 100% of the counts in each gate To incorporate the respiratory motion correction, choose the CardioFreeze Dual mode. On the Trigger task card, the number of gates can be changed. It is recommended to leave the duty cycle at 35. The duty cycle will influence the respiratory blurring but not image noise.
