Performing a Quick Urinalysis Strip Test Video

This video provides instructions on how to properly run a quick urinalysis strip test on your CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer, including printing results.

A quick test is a convenient way to run a test on the analyzer without having to enter additional data such as operator ID and patient information to begin the quick strip test. Have the test strip urine sample and a paper towel ready. From the main select screen touch strip test to access the Prepare test screen. Verified that the test table inset is positioned with the reagent strip Holder facing upward. Touch the start button. The Prepare test screen prompts you through the preparation steps which must be completed within 8 seconds. Dip the reagent strip into the sample. Wedding all the pads. Remove the strip immediately from the sample by dragging the edge against the side of the sample container. Touch the edge of the strip against a paper towel to blot any excess urine. With the test pads facing up, place the reagent strip in the channel of the table and slide it to the end. At the end of the 8 second countdown, the analyzer automatically pulls in the test table. The analyzer performs an automatic calibration each time a test is run. Be careful not to move or bump the test table while the instrument is calibrating. Once calibration is completed, the screen displays a countdown of the time remaining in analyzing strip test results. When analysis is completed, the test strip is ejected and the results can be reviewed on screen or on a printout. If the analyzer has been set up to print the results automatically, the printing screen displays until the printout is completed. If the print option has not been enabled, the result screen appears. Additional results information, such as date, time and type of test can be viewed by pressing the more button. If a printed copy is needed, it can be obtained manually by pressing print. Test results remain on screen for two minutes. After that time, the display returns to the main select menu. Touch done to complete the test and return to the main select screen. Remove the use test strip from the analyzer. Dispose of the test strip and report results according to the procedures specified at your facility.
