Composing Do's and Dont's - Numaris X

This Job Aid reviews the pre-requisites and criteria required to compose image data from multiple table moves on Numaris X software.

Composing Do’s and Don’ts Numaris X Job Aid Composing Do’s and Don’ts – Numaris X Prerequisites and Criteria to Compose Image Data 1. Image Type – Only MR images are acquired with syngo MR acceptable. a. Can’t compose gradient echo sequences with spin echo sequences. b. Can’t compose 2D sequences with 3D sequences. 2. Image Matrix – All images of a volume must have the same image matrix. 3. Pixel Spacing – All images must have the same pixel spacing (pixel spacing = FoV/Matrix). 4. Image Layout – All images must form a cuboid. 5. Database Storage a. All images (or series of images) must belong to one study. b. All images of a volume must belong to the same series. 6. Series Block – All images must be part of the same series block. 7. Slice Thickness – All images of a volume must have the same slice thickness. 8. Distortion Correction – ON a. Turn ON to ensure all series come from the same frame of reference. b. When applied, images belong to whole body coordinate system and have the same frame of reference. c. Same distortion correction setting must be used for all images. d. It is not possible to mix corrected with uncorrected images. e. Note: Distortion Correction is activated on all Numaris X sequences, exception Advanced Neuro sequences (e.g., Spectroscopy, DTI, BOLD, Perfusion) 9. Slice Distance – All images within one volume must have the same distance factor. 10. Slice Orientation – All images within a volume must have the same orientation. a. Sagittal and Coronal images can be composed. b. Transverse images can’t be composed – see instructions for Combine. Slice Inclination – Slice Stacks/Volumes must not exceed a +/- 45° a. Cannot be rotated about the feet-head (F/H) axis a. Don’t adjust angle on axial series when planning Coronal/Sagittal sequences b. 2D Data Sets i. Coronal Slices – (Max ±45°) incline from Coronal to Axial is only permitted 1. Inclines other directions not permitted (Max ±1°) ii. Sagittal Slices – (Max ±45°) incline from Sagittal to Axial is only permitted 1. Inclines other directions not permitted (Max ±1°) iii. Axial Slices – cannot be Composed (e.g., Combine is used to compile Axial Slices. c. 3D Data Sets – less angulation allowed i. Data Sets angled more than 6° may compose, but subsequent post- processing may not be allowed (e.g., Multi-Planar Reconstructions [MPR] or Maximum Intensity Projections [MIP]) ii. Warning – images are saved as secondary capture images. 1. Recommended to plann slices as straight as possible to ensure regions compose so secondary images are not created. 2) Data Sets – can have different Matrix Size, FoV, Slice Thickness, Number of Slices between data sets.
