Click Next to continue. Next Welcome Slide The timeline displays the slide progression. Slide the orange bar backwards to rewind the timeline. Click the X in the upper right corner to exit the navigation help. Timeline Simulation Thorax CTA Examination Select Scheduler to perform a CT examination. Home Screen [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_home_screen.mp3] The Home screen is the first screen that is displayed after launching the CT Scan&GO examination workflow. Select the Scheduler icon to perform a CT examination. Please click Scheduler to continue. Register Jane Doe by selecting her name. Select a Scheduled Patient [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_pat1_01.mp3] If your system is connected to a RIS, all scheduled patients are listed on the Patient Selection screen. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_pat1_02.mp3] You can register a patient locally, for example if your system is not connected to a RIS. The data of this locally registered patient will not be sent back to the RIS. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_pat1_03.mp3] Register a patient by selecting a patient name. For this simulation, we will select Jane Doe. Please click the marked Patient to continue. Select GO to load the selected patient. Select GO to Load the Selected Patient [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_pat2_01.mp3] After selecting a patient, you can check the patient details and modify patient information by tapping Patient Details. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_pat2_02.mp3] If applicable, modify patient information and tap Save to save your changes. Or tap Cancel if no changes are required. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_pat2_03.mp3] Select GO to load the selected patient. Please click GO to continue. Select Vascular as desired examination type. Select Examination Type [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_thx1_01.mp3] Depending on the patient type, Adult or Child, and the examination type, Anatomy or Vascular, tap the corresponding buttons. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_thx1_02.mp3] For this simulation, we will select the vascular model as appropriate examination type. Please click Vascular to continue. Select the Thorax as desired body region. Select Thorax Body Region [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_thx2_01.mp3] On the schematic vascular body map, select the thorax as desired body region to show all available scan protocols for selection. Please click on the Thorax to continue. Thorax CTA protocol: - Topogram - Pre-monitoring scan - Monitoring scan - Thorax CTA scan Select GO to continue with the examination. Select GO to Confirm the Selected Scan Protocol [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_thx_prot_01.mp3] Select the appropriate protocol. For this simulation we will use the Thorax CTA scan protocol. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_thx_prot_02.mp3] For a CTA scan the automatic bolus tracking tool is used. It monitors the flow of the injected contrast media in the vessel and triggers the scan at the predefined HU value. In this way, the start of the scan is tailored to each patient. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_thx_prot_03.mp3] The Thorax CTA protocol consists of - a topogram, - pre-monitoring scan, - monitoring scan - and the Thorax CTA scan. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_select_thx_prot_04.mp3] As the Thorax CTA protocol is already pre-selected, you can select Go to continue with the examination. Please click GO to continue. Select the Visual Patient Instruction icon. Check and Confirm Patient Position [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_conf_pat_pos1_01.mp3] Parameters are now loaded to reflect the Thorax CTA topogram. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_conf_pat_pos1_02.mp3] This is the Confirm Patient Position screen. It displays the patient data Patient Orientation Table Movement Topogram Length Tools area and Execution control area. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_conf_pat_pos1_03.mp3] If necessary, the Patient Orientation, Table Movement and default Topogram Length can be changed. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_conf_pat_pos1_04.mp3] You can also select the instruction language and switch the audible and visual patient instructions on or off. By tapping this icon, you can show the patient the visual patient instructions prior to the examination. This animated images help the patient better understand each breathing phase. Please click the marked icon to continue. Select Close. Show Visual Patient Instructions to the Patient [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_conf_pat_pos2_vpi_01.mp3] The green animation signals the patient to breathe normally. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_conf_pat_pos2_vpi_02.mp3] The yellow animation signals the patient to prepare to hold their breath. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_conf_pat_pos2_vpi_03.mp3] And the red animation signals the patient to not breath or swallow as long as the red animation is displayed. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_conf_pat_pos2_vpi_04.mp3] Close the popover to continue the examination. Please click Close to continue. Select GO to confirm the patient position. Check and Confirm Patient Position [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_conf_pat_pos3.mp3] Select GO to confirm the patient position. Please click GO to continue. Select GO to activate the topogram scan. Activate Topo Scan [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_activ_topo_scan.mp3] The Ready to load Topogram screen displays. Select GO to activate the topogram scan. Please click GO to continue. Please note: The Remote Scan Control (RSC) can be used as long as the operating range is guaranteed. Select the Start key on the Control Box to start the topogram scan. Start Topo Scan [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_start_topo_scan_01.mp3] The topogram is now loaded. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_start_topo_scan_02.mp3] Note, throughout the scan, step by step instructions are prompted at the bottom of the tablet screen leading you through the examination. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_start_topo_scan_03.mp3] Press the Start button on the control box or the Remote Scan Control to start the topogram scan. Please click the Start key on the Control Box to continue. Select GO to load the Premonitoring scan. Adjust Scan Range of Premonitoring Scan [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_prem_scan_range_01.mp3] A countdown indicates the remaining Delay Time until the scan is started. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_prem_scan_range_02.mp3] As soon as the scan is started, the Exam Time is displayed in seconds. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_prem_scan_range_03.mp3] The Topogram scan is complete and the topogram is displayed. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_prem_scan_range_04.mp3] If the topogram needs to be repeated, you can do so by tapping the Topogram range in the Scan Browser and then tapping the Repeat Topogram button that is displayed. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_prem_scan_range_05.mp3] Once the topogram is acquired, you can plan the next scan range on it. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_prem_scan_range_06.mp3] Note, the arrow on the right indicates the scan direction. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_prem_scan_range_07.mp3] The Scan Browser provides an overview of all scan ranges of the loaded protocol. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_prem_scan_range_08.mp3] You are now in the Premonitoring step. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_prem_scan_range_09.mp3] Adjust the pre-monitoring scan by selecting the blue dot range and dragging it to the desired location on the topogram. For this simulation we will drag it just above the bifurcation. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_prem_scan_range_10.mp3] Select GO to load the Premonitoring scan. Please click GO to continue. Press the Move key on the Control Box until the table reaches the start position of the Premonitoring scan. Press the Move Key on the Control Box [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_press_mov_key.mp3] Follow the instructions to press and hold the Move key on the control box or the Remote Scan Control, until the table reaches the start position of the Premonitoring scan. Please click the Move key on the Control Box to continue. Press the Move Key on the Control Box Please click the Move key on the Control Box to continue. Select the Start key on the Control Box to start the Premonitoring scan. Start the Premonitoring Scan [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_start_prem_scan.mp3] The table has now moved to the start position for the Premonitoring scan, which is indicated by the solid grey line. Press the Start key on the control box or the Remote Scan Control, and the scan will be performed. Please click the Start key on the Control Box to continue. Select the CTA scan range. Select CTA Scan Range on Timeline [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_timeline_cta_scan_range_01.mp3] The pre-monitoring image is displayed. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_timeline_cta_scan_range_02.mp3] You are now in the Monitoring step. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_timeline_cta_scan_range_03.mp3] When Fast ROI is configured, the ROI is automatically placed on the pre-Monitoring image. If the ROI does not appear automatically you will have to go to the console to set the ROI manually by using the mouse via left clicking on the vessel. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_timeline_cta_scan_range_04.mp3] The region of interest needs to be identified now. Confirm the region of interest for example, in the aorta for the monitoring scans. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_timeline_cta_scan_range_05.mp3] Before you load the monitoring scan, the Thorax CTA scan range and delay times need to be confirmed. To do this, select the CTA scan range in the scan browser. Please click the CTA scan range to continue. Select the Monitoring scan range to continue. Adjust CTA Scan Range and Return to Monitoring Scan [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_cta_scan_range_01.mp3] By using alpha technology, the scan range is placed automatically on the topogram according to the pre-configured organ range in FAST planning. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_cta_scan_range_02.mp3] If you wish to make additional adjustments to the CTA scan range, feel free to grab any of the purple dots and modify the scan range accordingly. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_cta_scan_range_03.mp3] Also, check the absolute delay times for both the monitoring scan and the CTA scan range. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_cta_scan_range_04.mp3] To return to the Monitoring scan, select the Monitoring scan range in the Scan Browser. Please click the Monitoring scan range to continue. Select GO to activate and load the scan. Activate Monitoring Scan [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_activ_monit_scan_01.mp3] You can see the contrast protocol for the monitoring scan, if you have the CARE Contrast license, Injector Coupling is turned On, and a contrast protocol has been added to the scan range. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_activ_monit_scan_02.mp3] The injection phases are color-coded. The first injection is Contrast medium, the second is Saline. For each injection phase, the Volume, the Flow and the Duration are displayed. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_activ_monit_scan_03.mp3] Select GO to activate and load the scan. Please click GO to continue. Select the Start key on the Control Box to administer the contrast and start the Monitoring scan. Start Monitoring Scan [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_scan_range_01.mp3] If you haven’t done yet, connect the patient to the contrast injector and arm the injector. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_scan_range_02.mp3] With the optional CARE Contrast license, you start the intravenous contrast injection and CT scan at the same time by pressing only the Start key on the Control box or the Remote Scan Control. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_adj_scan_range_03.mp3] If CARE contrast is not available, then the start buttons on both, the injector and the control box, need to be manually pressed at the same time. Please click the Start key on the Control Box to continue. Select Recon to start all configured reconstruction jobs. Check Quality of CTA Images [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_cta_images_01.mp3] The countdown begins and the monitoring scans will be repeatedly performed. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_cta_images_02.mp3] Once the CT value in the ROI reaches the pre-configured threshold, the Thorax CTA scan is then triggered and starts automatically. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_cta_images_03.mp3] Complete the scan by checking the scan quality: You can scroll through the acquired images via the slider or the arrows on the right hand side. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_cta_images_04.mp3] To change the window width and center, tap the Windowing icon and swipe horizontally or vertically over the screen. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_cta_images_05.mp3] To toggle between Quality Check images and Real Time Images, tap this icon. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_cta_images_06.mp3] You can also hide the images by tapping this icon. Tap the icon a second time to display the images again. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_check_cta_images_07.mp3] If you are satisfied with the quality of the image, select Recon to start all configured reconstruction jobs. Please click Recon to continue. Select Close to close the current patient. Close the Patient [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_contin_recon_01.mp3] All images are now reconstructed according to the programmed protocol. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_scan_go_wf_sim_thorax_contin_recon_02.mp3] Select the Close button to close the current patient and return to the Patient Selection screen. Please click Close to continue.
