Dimension Vista® System Weekly/Monthly Maintenance Online Training

Weekly and monthy maintenance tasks include cleaning and inspection of various components for the efficient performance and management of the instrument. This clinical laboratory training qualifies for continuing education units (CEU).

Congratulations. You have completed the Dimension Vista® Weekly and Monthly Maintenance Online Training course. Listed below are the key points that have been presented.  Take time to review the material before you proceed to the final quiz.  Note: Remember to wear safety glasses when performing maintenance procedures. In this course, you have learned how to: Identify Weekly Maintenance Tasks Clean Reagent Residue on Baseplate Clean the area around Reagent Arm 1 and Reagent Arm  2 as needed using a damp cloth. Inspect IMT Module  Locate the IMT Sample Port.  If salt crystals are present, clean as needed using a damp cloth. Record these tasks electronically on the Weekly Maintenance Log. Identify Monthly Maintenance tasks Perform the Monthly tasks in the following order:           Inspect IMT Peristaltic Pump Tubing for flattened areas Clean Reagent Flex Inserts Clean Sample/Reagent Drains Clean Aliquot Probe Tip Replace Air Filters Clean Aliquot Waste Chute Note: Perform these tasks using the following supplies: Flex Inserts, air filters, drain brush long slender tool, gauze and alcohol prep pad. Monthly Maintenance Tasks: Inspect Peristaltic Pump Tubing Locate the IMT Peristaltic Pump, lift the pump lid and inspect the tubing between the collars for flattened sections. Note: If tubing is flattened and needs to be replaced use the procedure for replacing IMT Peristaltic Pump Tubing located in the iGuide. Clean the Reagent Flex Inserts After you remove the R1 and R3 inserts, clean, then dry and store the inserts in the Spare Parts Kit. Clean the Drains Use only the drain brush included in the Spare Parts Kit. Follow the dialog instructions using the diagram of the drain location in the Maintain Probe screen. Clean Aliquot Probe Tip Use an alcohol prep pad to clean the aliquot probe tip below the guard.  Replace Air Filters Replace the four instrument air filters. After you remove the filters, clean off the accumulated dust with water or a vacuum cleaner, store in Spare Parts Kit. Clean Aliquot Waste Chute                                     Locate the Aliquot waste Chute. Clean using a damp cloth Record these tasks electronically on the Monthly Maintenance Log Navigate to System>Daily Log>Monthly Maintenance Log. Select the task and  the X in the completed column will change to a checkmark along with the date and user who performed the task. Notes: Determine which model of Dimension Vista System you have in your lab: 500/1000T  or 1500/3000T Monthly Maintenance procedures will differ on how many drains the instrument has and which inserts to clean It is recommended to perform the procedures in the listed sequence for efficient time utilization Reference the iGuide for the complete detailed procedural instructions   Select Next to continue. Locate the baseplate and clean the area around Reagent Arms 1 and 2 as needed using a damp cloth. Close lid and reset instrument. Inspect IMT ModuleHTML Inspect IMT Module: Select the Operation Icon, then Pause to pause the instrument. Release the left and center interlock, lift the left and center instrument lids, and locate the IMT Module area. Gently lift up the rectangular latch on each side of the aliquot holder to release the aliquot plate cover. Set the cover aside on a flat surface. Locate the IMT Sample Port. If salt crystals are present around the port, clean as needed using a damp cloth. Reinstall the aliquot plate cover, close lid and reset the instrument.  Weekly Maintenance LogHTML     Weekly Maintenance Log: Record on the Weekly Maintenance Log after completing the tasks.
