Emptying the Waste on the Atellica® Decapper Video

This video provides instructions on how to perform the task of emptying the waste on the Atellica® Decapper.

The decapper waste must be emptied as needed. To empty the decapper waste, first pull the cap waste drawer away from the system, remove the biohazard bag, and discard according to laboratory protocol. Insert a new biohazard bag into the cap wastebin talking the bag over the bin an under the flage to allow the caps to drop freely into the cap waste bin. The new biohazard bag must be fully opened an fit snugly in the bin. Manually remove any caps dropped in the chassis before closing the drawer. Ensure the cap waste drawer is out for more than 10 seconds to automatically reset the waste counter if the door is open for less than 10 seconds. For a quick check, the system will assume that the waste has not been emptied and the waste counter will not be reset. To complete the procedure, push the drawer closed until it is firmly against the back wall to ensure that it is in the correct position.
