How to Enable and Set Quality Reference mAs Values for CARE Dose4D step by step

How to Enable and Set Quality Reference mAs Values for CARE Dose4D Computed Tomography Siemens' CARE Dose4D automatically adapts radiation dose to the size and shape of each individual patient. For most protocols, this feature is enabled by default, as can be seen on the Scan subtask card of the loaded protocol or in the Scan Protocol Assistant for the selected protocol(s). CAFE DOONO C 120 25.15% 05¢ -J 25 HoUnd CARE Dose4D automatically adapts the eff. mAs to the individual patient size and shape based on a user-defined Quality ref. mAs. Generally, the Quality ref. mAs is considered to be the mAs that would be used on a 70 - 80kg/170lb patient for a specific body part to attain a desired acceptable image quality. By default, a Quality ref. mAs value is populated in all of the Siemens default protocols that use CARE Dose4D; however, image quality is subjective, and as such the user/Radiologist may wish to change this value in order to increase or decrease image noise for a scan protocol. This can be accomplished in either the Scan subtask card or in the Scan Protocol Assistant* 1. To change the Quality ref. mAs value in the Scan subtask card, click the dose settings button to display the image quality definition dialogue box. Use the up/down arrows or type in the box directly to define a new Quality ref. mAs. NOTE: Do not adapt the Quality ref. mAs for each patient. Only change this value if you wish to adjust image quality for all patients when using the selected protocol.
