How to use tMIP for Respiratory Gating Image Evaluation

How to Use t-MIP for Respiratory Gating Image Evaluation CT for Radiation Oncology Workflow t-MIPs or Temporal Maximum Intensity Projections are useful for evaluating tumors of the thorax in respiratory gated images. The t-MIP displays the maximum – or minimum – gray value seen within the images and includes all time points and breathing phase in- formation. 1. In the Patient Browser, select all of the individual phases of the gated study using the CTRL key. If all phases are combined in a single series, run the Conversion program to separate the phases into individual series. In the t-MIP window, click the desired output image – Maximum or Minimum. Typically the will be Maximum as it will show the maximum gray value of each pixel. Minimum may be useful in certain soft tissue areas, such as the liver. You may also label the series in the Re- sult Series Description field.
