This 5 part WBT series is for the user who is new to Siemens Biograph PET/CT scanners. It is intended to provide a basic introduction to the scanner and the syngo Acquisition Workplace user interface to help the user get started in providing excellent patient care. The forth module will provide an introduction to the syngo Patient Browser and database management

Introduction to Biograph - Part 4 You have now completed the course, Introduction to Biograph - Part 4.  You should now be able to: Describe the purpose of the syngo Patient Browser and navigate the user interface Show the methods to access the Patient Browser Identify the patient databases and data levels Demonstrate the steps on how to filter, sort, transfer, archive and delete patient data in the database Demonstrate the steps in deleting patient data from your database By the end of this module you will be able to: Describe the purpose of the syngo Patient Browser and navigate the user interface Show the ways to access the Patient Browser Identify the patient databases and data levels Demonstrate the steps on how to filter, sort, transfer, archive and delete patient data in the database Demonstrate the steps in deleting patient data from your database   Shared database on syngo MI Workplace Data Management Archiving Deleting Correcting Exporting Sending Sorting Filtering                                            Method 1 Select Patient >>Browser from the menu bar Method 2 Press the Patient Browser key on the numeric keypad Sort options available are determined by the current selection.  To sort patient level data, first click on the Local Database icon on the left of the Patient Browser. To sort series level data, first click on the study that contains the series data you want to sort.       To import or export PET or CT data, first click Patient on the Patient Browser menu bar.   Select Export PET or CT Data or Import PET or CT Data depending on your needs.   You are able to import or export PET raw data and images as well as CT images from external sources such as DVDs or external hard drives.     Before deleting patient data, ensure that the data has first been archived and that no other application is accessing the data. 1. Select the patient, study, or series to delete. 2. Select Edit >> Delete.         -Or-     Click the Delete button on the tool bar.     3. Click the Yes button to confirm or No to cancel. There are 2 methods for transferring or sending patient data:  1.  Select the desired patient, study, or series. 2.  Select Transfer >> Send To from the menu bar.     -Or-     Click the Send To button on the tool bar. 3.  Choose the destination (or node) to send the data. 4.  Click the Send button. To display the Network Job Status queue: From the menu bar, select Transfer >> Network Job Status. Statuses Include: Complete Received                  Active Failed Actions Include: Stop Restart Delete Urgent Clear 1. Click to highlight the patient, study, or series to correct.     2. Select Edit >> Correct.     3. When the Correct window displays, the patient's main DICOM information displays on the left. 4. Fields in white can be edited. 5. To navigate from Patient, Hospital, Study, Series, or Instance information, click directly on the tab.      6. Click the OK button to save the changes. Applying an Existing Filter Once you select the data level to apply the filter, click on the Filter menu at the top of the screen then select one of the available filters. Descriptions of each of the existing filters can be found in the table below.          1. Click Options >> Filter Settings. 2. Type in a name for the new filter in the Filter Name field. 3. Customize the new filter by selecting up to 5 parameters. When a filter is in use, the pink filter icon displays beside the applicable data level.  To remove the filter, first select the data level then click Filter >> Off.   Local Database The system stores all patient and examination data in a large local database. Scheduler This database contains all patients who have been pre-registered.  The content switches to a special list and displays all patients scheduled. Local Archive This icon represents the selected external drive CD or DVD (disk currently inserted in that drive). Select the tabs below to view images that depict the data structure contained within the Patient Browser. Patient Level Study Level Series Level Contains all patient studies and visits for that department Contains all of the data associated with that exam Contains individual acquisition, reconstruction job, & post-processing datasets associated with the exam Patient Level Study Level Series Level 1.  Select the patient and study folder to export. - Use the Ctrl key to select non-consecutive items. - Use the Shift key to select consecutive items.   2.  Select Patient >> Export PET/CT Data from the menu bar.      -Or-     Click on the Export button on the tool bar.   1. Select the data to export. 2. Select the destination from the Logical Name field. 3. Select the path for the current location of the data. 4. Check the Export Anonymously box if desired. 5. Enter an Anonymized Name if Step 4 was checked. 6. Click the Export button. 7. Once the Patient Browser updates, click the Finalize Medium and Eject button.   1. Insert the media into the device. 2. Click on the device icon in the navigation area. 3. Select the patient, study or series to import. 4. Click the Import button on the toolbar.     -Or-      Select Patient >> Import PET/CT Data from the menu bar. 5. 6. When the PET Import Data Tool window opens, complete the fields shown below. Click the Import button to complete the process. Transfer Data < 4GB 1.  Connect the device to the front of the computer. 2.  Select Transfer >> Export to Off-line. 3.  Select the desired parameters listed in the Export to Off-line dialog box then click OK.      Transfer Data < 4GB (con't) Before removing the USB, ensure that the series transfer is complete. 1.  Select Transfer >> Local Job Status. 2.  Verify the Job Status says Complete. 3.  Click the USB Eject icon in the status bar.  A pop-up will display.      4.  Click on the Safely Eject PNP Device pop-up.      5.  A message will appear; PNP Device can be Unplugged. 6.  Remove the USB device from the USB port. Import Transferred Data 1. 2.  3. 4. 5. Connect the device to the computer. From the Patient Browser, click on the Import button.      -Or- Select Patient >> Import PET/CT Data. When the Import window displays complete the following fields:  Logical Name, Path, & File Type Select the files to import. Click the Import button. Transfer Data > 4GB PET & CT raw data files are larger than 4 GB. To archive raw data files, complete the following steps. Before you are able to export any files, you must set up the Raw Data Export Root. 1. Select Options >> File Browser. 2. Select the folder to export the files to (destination root folder). 3. Select PET or CT Transfer >> Set as Export Root. Transfer Data > 4GB 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. To export the raw data, complete the following steps: Open the patient folder that contains the raw data. Navigate to the series level & click to select the raw data to export. Select Patient >> Export PET or CT Raw Data. When the Export Window displays, select the destination folder for the data. Enter the file name and select the appropriate file type. Click the Save button. Import Raw Data Files Only files that have been exported through the Export Operation (seen on the previous tab) can be imported.  All files must have the file extension .ptd. Connect the USB device to the computer tower.   Select Patient >> Import PET and CT Data.   When the File Browser window opens, select the desired raw data files.   Select PET or CT Data Transfer >> Import.
