How to Release a Patient if Movement is Blocked During a Stereotactic Biopsy MAMMOMAT Revelation In the event of a power failure or if movement is blocked during a stereotactic biopsy examination, release the patient as follows: Removing the needle: 1. If the biopsy device is large and at risk of colliding with the collimator during the removal, then: Loosen the fastening screw (1) of the needle holder. (1) 2. Remove the biopsy device (2) plus the needle holder and needle by slightly tipping the biopsy device (e.g., Mammotome) in the direction of the patient. If the distance between the compression plate and the positioned biopsy unit is greater than 3 cm, then: > 3 cm 2. Firmly press the compression emergency unlocking device (2). Compression is mechanically unlocked, compression plate can be pushed up. – The patient may be removed from the biopsy unit. – (2) 3. If the distance between the compression plate and the positioned biopsy unit is less than 3 cm, then you must first move the needle positioning part up: < 3 cm 4.
