MI PET Biograph Advanced - Cardiology Focus Classroom Course

The MI PET Biograph Advanced – Cardiac Focus class is  designed for the PET, NM or CT technologist who has been using the Biograph system for at least 6 months and is interested in expanding their practice to in PET/CT Cardiac imaging. Through the use of demonstrations, lecture, and hands-on console applications, technologists will be introduced to PET/CT Cardiac concepts and applications. Topics will include List Mode Imaging Fundamentals, Fundamentals of PET/CT Cardiac Imaging, PET/CT Cardiac Protocols and Parameters, Cardiac Electrophysiology, Coronary CTA Tips and Tricks, syngo.via Cardiac Engines and the hardware setup, acquisition and reconstruction of PET/CT cardiac studies.

The classroom setting provides an optimal environment for learning without distractions and many opportunities for questions and answers. The course will enhance what the user will learn from the Clinical Education Specialist’s onsite visit.

Upon completion of this class, the attendee will be able to:

  • Describe the purpose of list mode imaging and how it is used in PET.
  • State the principles of PET Cardiac imaging and describe the protocols used.
  • Demonstrate the use of syngo.via Corridor 4DM and Cedars, and Siemens MBF applications.
  • Describe the basics of cardiac electrophysiology and demonstrate how to discern between normal and abnormal EKGs.
  • Describe the basics of setting up a CTA exam.
  • List techniques available for dose reduction in Cardiac CT imaging
  • Demonstrate the use of the hardware setup, acquisition and reconstruction of cardiac studies.
