Monthly Cleaning of the Atellica® Decapper Video Version 1.25 and Below

This video provides instructions on how to perform the monthly maintenance task of cleaning the Atellica® Decapper.

The operator must inspect and clean the camper area monthly to ensure the components are free from dust and debris. The tube gripper pads. Drip tray tube guide. And inside of the cap, wastebin must be inspected and cleaned. To clean the decapper components, pause the atellica magline transport by first selecting system. Then select status. Select the Atellica magline transport icon. And then select the pause button, wait until the atellica magline transport completely stops. Then turn the pressure valve at the back of the system clockwise to shut off the pressure to the system. Lift the decapre cover off the system and wait for the module to stop. Grasp the tube grippers and push them together. And then clean the tube gripper pads using a lint free cloth or cotton swab dampened with 10% bleach solution. Then clean the drip tray also using a lint free cloth dampened with 10% bleach solution. Anne clean the tube guide using a lint free cloth dampened with 10% bleach solution. Inspect the tube gripper pads to ensure they are secure and not worn. If the tube gripper pads are positioned incorrectly or excessively worn, contact the local Technical Support provider to replace. Ensure the cap remover is positioned over the cap waste chute. To clean the inside of the cap, wastebin pulled the cap waste drawer away from the system. Then remove the biohazard bag and discard according to laboratory protocol. Manually remove any caps dropped in the chassis. Clean the inside of the cap waste bin using a lint free cloth dampened with 10% bleach solution. Insert a new biohazard bag into the cap waste bin. Talking the bag over the bin an under the flange to allow the caps to drop freely into the cap waste bin. The new biohazard bag must be fully opened an fit snugly in the bin. Push the drawer closed until it is firmly against the back wall to ensure that it is in the correct position. If the drawer is open for less than 10 seconds, the system does not reset the waste counter. Replace the cover on the decapper. And then turn the pressure valve at the back of the system counterclockwise to restore the pressure. If appropriate, resumed the decapper an the atellica magline transport by first selecting system. Then select status. Select either the Decapper or Atellica magline transport icon as appropriate and then select the resume button. Note that if the magline needs to be restarted, follow the standard procedure of clearing the magline prior to startup. Refer to the Atellica solution online help For more information. To complete the procedure mark cleaning the decapper is completed in the software by first selecting maintenance. Then select schedule. Select the decapper module in the dropdown menu. Select the cleaning the decapper activity. And finally select the mark as completed button on the right side of the screen.
