Multi Voxel Spectroscopy 2D & 3D (CSI) Scanning Workflow
Multi Voxel Spectroscopy 2D & 3D (CSI) Scanning Workflow 1. Scout images acquired in all 3 planes – used to position voxel (VOI) Acquired orthogonal, oblique or double oblique Scout images or routine images (i.e., T1, T2, etc) can be used for positioning voxel Full brain coverage in all 3 planes Note: Distortion Correction should not be used for any sequences in a Spectroscopy protocol 2. Open > CSI pulse sequence in Exam Task Card Queue 3. Select > View > Reference Lines Displays position of localizers on the other two imaging planes 4. Select > segment with reference image for VOI positioning (typically an axial image is used) Right mouse on Reference image Select > Copy Image Position Note: CSI sequence must be open in imaging queue Note: Positions VOI in the same orientation and table position as the reference image SIEMENS www.usa.siemens.com/healthcare Page 1 of 2 304 Effective Date: 09/08/2016 5. Position voxel over area of interest Select > Scroll > Nearest Note: Finds intersecting planes of all 3 localizers or routine images Note: voxel can be square, rectangle, and angled Ensure Voxel is a “Solid box” Solid Box – indicates the voxel has intersection in all 3 imaging planes Dotted Box – indicates displayed voxel is in front of or behind selected imaging plane Note: This workflow uses automated shimming 6. Select > Apply Note: runs pulse sequence SIEMENS www.usa.siemens.com/healthcare Page 2 of 2
