Recovering from Sample Travel Overage on the Atellica® Solution Job Aid Version 1.25 and Below

This job aid provides details on the topic of recovering from sample travel overage on the Atellica® Solution.

Atellica® Sample Handler Connect SIEMENS Healthineers Recovering from Sample Travel Overage Job Aid Recovering from Sample Travel Overage Sample Travel Overage occurs when there is a condition that prevents samples from unloading from the Atellica Magline® Transport, such as the Laboratory Automation System (LAS) or SHC being unavailable to unload LAS samples, and the SH also being unavailable to unload samples. Under this condition, the samples continue to travel on the Atellica Magline Transport until the condition is resolved or the distance the sample travels approaches the Sample Travel Overage limit. When the sample travel approaches the Sample Travel Overage limit: • The system alerts the operator and pauses the Atellica Magline Transport • If the operator resumes the Atellica Magline Transport, the system attempts to unload the sample to an available rack in an SH drawer. If the system still cannot unload the sample, the system alerts the operator and pauses the Atellica Magline Transport again • Each time the operator resumes the Atellica Magline Transport, the sample moves farther along the Atellica Magline Transport until the system successfully unloads the sample or the Sample Travel Overage limit is reached When a sample meets the Sample Travel Overage limit: • The system alerts the operator and pauses the Atellica Magline Transport • The system will not allow the operator to resume until the operator reseats all samples in the carriers currently on the Atellica Magline Transport and restarts the Atellica Magline Transport Template Effective Date: 27-MAY-2019 | HOOD05162003010284 1 Effective Date: 05-JUN-2019 | HOOD05162003006834 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthcare GmbH, 2019 Atellica® Sample Handler Connect SIEMENS Healthineers Recovering from Sample Travel Overage Job Aid To recover from Sample Travel Overage: SIEMENS Healthineers Atellica® Solution Version 1.16.0.3124001 SP00101 A 1. If the system does not restart the Atellica Magline® Transport due to the Sample Travel Overage limit being met or exceeded, perform the following: A. Visually inspect the Atellica Magline Transport to locate any carriers with sample containers B. To gain access to the carrier, remove 1 or more Atellica Magline Transport covers: 1) Loosen the 2 Atellica Magline Transport cover thumbscrews enough to allow you to slide the cover off, but do not completely remove the thumbscrews 2) Pull the Atellica Magline Transport cover away from the system C. Push the sample container down until it is fully seated to the bottom of the carrier 001 1001234 5997 D. Ensure carriers are clear of the Atellica Magline Transport diverters. The Atellica Magline Transport and SH do not initialize if a carrier is present in the diverters E.
