SOMATOM go & X.cite Shutdown Procedure Job Aid SOMATOM go & SOMATOM X.cite.; Somaris X This document will outline the properly recommended shutdown protocol for SOMATOM go. & SOMATOM X.cite systems. • Shut down daily [full system off] ** • Restart/reboot when prompted ** • Checkup/Calibration at 75 minutes – prompted ** • DO NOT CLICK “DON’T SHOW THIS AGAIN’ • Calibration recommended if system has been idle for an extended time period (2 hours or more) and/or If artifacts present or change in temperature ** Please see instructions listed below in this document. Note: Every system is different. Please follow instructions from the Clinical Service Engineer (CSE) and or your Service Customer Care Team. System Startup Successful startup means that the system connects power to all system components such as comput- ers, the table, and the gantry. Full functionality is guaranteed when the Home screen is displayed and the keys on the control box light up. The On/Off button in the gantry Connector Box located in the right gantry stand will turn on the sys- tem. Note: If a wall switch is installed, there is an On/Off button to power the scanner. The line connection box (LCB) power switch is also an option. If a Check up is not executed after 24 hours a pop-up message will appear, but can be cleared. If the Check up is still not performed at 36 hours the message cannot be cleared until the Check up is initi- ated. Steps to perform a Check up: 1. Select System Check from the Home screen or Check up in the Settings menu. • The Check up window opens. Check up, System Check 2. Select GO. • You are prompted to press Start. For optimum image quality and system safety, please run the Checkup procedure. Exit the scan room. The table will move automatically. X-rays will be produced during the Checkup procedure. Repeat GO cancel Checkup has started. Press the GO button to continue. 3. Press Start on the control box. • Scanning is initiated. For efficiency, you can exit all running examinations and close all applications before proceeding. You can shut down the system from the Home screen: 1. On the access bar, click the Home icon. Jackson, Denver Note: The computer terminal should be restarted every 24 hours via Home screen, then clicking Restart System to assure best system performance. The entire system should undergo a complete controlled shutdown once every 7 days. 2. On the Home screen, click the arrow head below the Shut down icon. O 3. Select Shut down System. Note: If a workflow is open or a job is running that uses local resources, a warning message is displayed. To shut down the system, click Confirm. Select Yes, and a dialogue box shows the shutdown progress.
