syngo.via - CT Bone Reading  step by step

syngo.via® CT Bone Reading The syngo.via CT Bone Reading workflow is designed to aid in the diagnostic evaluation of the bony structures of the thorax. It provides dedicated layouts of the ribs and spine that help support the detection of bone lesions, metastases, and fractures in oncologic examinations and trauma evaluations. 1. From the Patient Worklist, load an appropriate data set into the CT Bone Reading workflow: • If the examination has been correctly mapped, double click to load • If manual mapping is required, right-click the examination and select Open With > CT Bone Read- ing. 2. Various layouts are available for both single- and two-monitor viewing which can display paraxial MPRs of the thorax, “un- CT Bone Reading Q + folded” views of the ribs and spine, and cross-sectional images. The segmentation and labeling of the ribs and spine are auto- CT Bone Reading matically performed during pre-processing -iT Vertebra CAD Label Marker Zoom Add Delete Extend Edit The unfolded view segment displays a planar reconstruction of the ribcage with each rib “un- folded” along automatically calculated center- lines. The spine is displayed in sagittal, coronal, and axial planes. Dragging the yellow lines over the sag- gital or coronal images will update the images in the corresponding segments in real time 4. During pre-processing, the spine and ribs are automatically segmented. Depending on the quality of the study and the patient’s anatomy, some ribs may not be detected or segmented correctly. + • Click the Add Rib icon. In the unfolded view, click the rib next to the missing rib to localize the general area. In an MPR segment, double click the missing rib to add, or drop Add multiple points if necessary. • Click the Delete Rib icon. In the unfolded view, click the desired rib to delete. Delete • In the unfolded view, click the desired rib. Click the Extend Rib icon. In an MPR segment, navigate to the outer end of the rib that is not visible in the unfolded view. Click Extend to extend the rib to this point. 5. During pre-processing, anatomic labels are added to the ribs and vertebrae that were automatically segmented. Depending on the quality of the study and the patient’s anatomy, these labels can be cor- rected, if necessary.
