syngo.via® CT Coronary Vessel Definition syngo.via CT Coronary is a full-featured software package designed to aid in the diagnostic evaluation of car- diac CT angiography (CTA) volume data sets. CT Coronary provides general evaluation tools, vessel defini- tion tools, and vessel evaluation tools that support in the identification and quantification of coronary le- sions and other cardiac anomalies. 1. From the Patient Worklist, load an appropriate data set into the CT Coronary Workflow: • If the examination has been correctly mapped, double click to load • If manual mapping is required, right-click the examination and select Open With > CT Coronary 2. As a part of the preprocessing, the major coronary arteries and branches are automatically traced and labeled in the CT Coronary workflow step. Additional centerlines can be defined using the tools available in the Case Navigator. The Manual tracing tool allows for the manual creation of centerlines based on clicked points or a drawn line. Manual tracing is helpful in difficult cases – like high-grade stenosis – and it is recommended to perform the vessel tracing on the MPR images rather than the VRT. It is important to note that manually created centerlines are not propagated to other car- Manual diac phases for a multi-phase dataset. On the vessel of interest, start a new centerline by clicking the center of the lumen. Click consecutive points along the vessel, and double click to end the tracing. • To create a centerline based on a drawn line, activate the Manual Tracing icon. Drag the mouse pointer along the vessel to create a freehand centerline. Use the undo icon to delete a last step, if necessary. Double click to end the tracing. 4. The Single Click Vessel Tracing tool allows for the semi-automatic creation of centerlines based on a single click in the desired vessel. With the icon activated, set a seed point by clicking once on the target vessel in an MPR, VRT, or CPR image. For optimum results, place the seed point in the center of the vessel lumen. syngo.via automatically creates a centerline start- Single ing at the ostium and continuing as far as possible distally. R 30.0'% 5. The Multiple Click Vessel Tracing tool allows for the semi-automated creation of centerlines based on multiple points placed along a vessel. With the icon activated, click the target vessel to set the start point. A rubber band is displayed between the mouse pointer and the start point. Continue clicking the target vessel until all points are set. In many cases a start Multiple and end point are all that are required. Double click to end the tracing. You can set the end point on a different image segment. If a centerline does not follow the desired course, the path can be changed manually or semi-auto- matically using Freehand Edit or Control Point Edit. Control points are automatically set at relevant positions along the centerline and divide a part of the centerline into two. Modifications done in one of the sections do not affect other parts. Double click at the end point of the modified centerline. Control Point Edit Freehand Edit • To modify centerlines by control point editing, enable the Control Point Edit icon. The centerline is displayed in magenta with control points. In the CPR segment, use the mouse to drag a control point to a desired location. To add additional control points, right click the centerline at the desired location and choose Add Control Point or simply left click the centerline at the desired location to add a new control point. An updated centerline is calculated that runs through the new point(s).
