syngo.via - CT Vascular Vessel Definition Step by Step

syngo.via® CT Vascular Vessel Definition syngo.via CT Vascular is a full-featured software package designed to aid in the diagnostic evaluation of CT angiography (CTA) volume data sets. CT Vascular provides general evaluation tools, vessel definition tools, and vessel evaluation tools that support in the identification and quantification of vascular lesions and other vessel anomalies. 1. From the Patient Worklist, load an appropriate data set into the CT Vascular Workflow: • If the examination has been correctly mapped, double click to load • If manual mapping is required, right-click the examination and select Open With > CT Vascular 2. As a part of the preprocessing, major vessels – e.g. aorta, renal arteries, carotid arteries - are automati- cally traced and labeled in the CT Vascular workflow step. Additional centerlines can be defined using the tools available in the Case Navigator. CT Vascular Q + -IT Remove Table Bone Remoy .. . The Manual tracing tool allows for the manual creation of centerlines based on clicked points or a drawn line. Manual tracing is helpful in difficult cases – like high-grade stenosis – and it is recom- mended to perform the vessel tracing on the MPR images rather than the VRT. On the vessel of interest, start a new centerline by clicking the center of the lumen. Click consecutive points along the vessel, and double click to end the tracing. • To create a centerline based on a drawn line, activate the Manual Vessel Tracing icon. Drag the mouse pointer along the vessel to create a freehand centerline. Use the undo icon to delete a last step, if necessary. Double click to end the tracing. 4. The Multiple Click Vessel Tracing tool allows for the semi-automated creation of cen- terlines based on multiple points CL placed along a vessel. With the icon Multiple activated, click the target vessel to set the start point. A rubber band is dis- played between the mouse pointer and the start point. Continue clicking the target vessel until all points are set. In many cases a start and end point are all that are required. Double click to end the tracing. You can set the end point on a different im- age segment. 5. If a centerline does not follow the desired course, the path can be changed manually or semi-auto- matically using Freehand Edit or Control Point Edit. Control points are automatically set at relevant positions along the centerline and divide a part of the centerline into two. Modifications done in one of the sections do not affect other parts. The centerline is displayed in magenta with control points. Click anywhere on the centerline and drag the mouse pointer to draw a new line or use consecutive mouse clicks to drop new points. Double click at the end point of the modified centerline. Control Point Edit Freehand Edit • To modify centerlines by control point editing, enable the Control Point Edit icon. The centerline is displayed in magenta with control points. In the CPR segment, use the mouse to drag a control point to a desired location. To add additional control points, right click the centerline at the de- sired location and choose Add Control Point or simply left click the centerline at the desired loca- tion to add a new control point. An updated centerline is calculated that runs through the new point(s). Control Point Edit Freehand Edit • To delete part of a centerline, enable either of the editing tools. Right click on the desired center- line area and select Discard Centerline Above or Discard Centerline Below. • To extend a centerline, lengthen the freehand line or add control points. With the centerline edit mode active, click the end point of a centerline and draw or add consecutive points. Double click to end the extension.
