syngo.via VB30 Basics Online Training

This online training is intended to train you on first steps with syngo.via. It also introduces basic case evaluation to these customers.

First Steps with syngo.via Patient Browser In this chapter, we introduced you to the layout and the main features of the Patient Browser showing the different layout areas and how to adapt the layout easily by dragging the lines how to search for specific patients the different display types of the cases in a list or thumbnail view the customization of the columns by changing the sizes of the columns and adding more columns hw to mark or unmark certain cases the use of filters when you look for certain cases (for example for one modality) how to print directly from the Browser without changing to the Print workflow step. Work List Creation and Demo Lists Work lists and demo lists are supporting lists to structure your reading processes. In this chapter, you have learned how to create a personal work list by using the corresponding filter criteria and saving it. In addition, you can create a demo list in a similar way, but it is independent of filter criteria and can be used when you want to share cases, for example during a later clinical session. DICOM Query / Retrieve & Data Import / Export With the Query & Retrieve function it is possible to search for patient data in other DICOM nodes and retrieve them for your system. The easiest way to open the Retrieve dialog is to use the shortcut, Ctrl + R. If you  want to retrieve additional datasets from a patient that exists in your data base, use the shortcut in the Patient Browser context menu, add the source for the query and select the necessary data. Typically, patient data is archived automatically (depending on your configuration). But if you want to archive patient data manually, the easiest way is to select the cases and click the Send to Archive button. It is also possible to import or export patient data out of the Patient Browser from or to a USB stick or CD / DVD. To import data, click the Import icon, select the folder, and import. To export patient data, select the data in your Patient Browser and select the Export icon in the menu bar. The dialog box offers some properties, for example for image compression. In any case you find, follow the transfer activity in the Job View. Online Help and What's New List In the Online Help, you find information including user manuals and additional material to support your daily work with syngo.via. Press the F1 key or click the question mark icon. In the Search field, you can search for information. In the Library, you find a list of all available documents and training videos. For easier handling, you can create Your quicklinks to material you use often. Configuration Panel and Client Personalization In the Configuration Panel, you can define your user- or client-specific settings, for example the language of the user interface or the number of monitors. On the Advanced Visualization tab card, more settings are available for advanced syngo.via workflows, for example for the Rapid Results technology. On the Display & Behaviour tab card, you can configure, for example, the behavior of the Findings creation or how information is displayed on the screen. Workflow Management The syngo.via workflows prepare your examinations and guide you through the clinical workflow. Each case is automatically or manually associated to a syngo.via workflow. It is also possible to create a list of favorite workflows for easy access in the Patient Browser. When finished with your evaluation, click the Complete icon and, depending on your configuration, findings and results will automatically be sent to the archive. Use the Batch Mode, when you want to examine a number of cases one after the other, for example in mammography screening programs. If a case is already in work by a colleague, it is still possible to open it in the Read only mode and to save snapshots and ranges in the Series Navigator to be sent to the PACS. Start Your First Case Basic Case Evaluation​ When you take a look at the viewer in general, you see that the screen is divided in several parts with different content. To open or close it, click the corresponding tab card. All dialog boxes are floating windows and can be moved to any other location or monitor. The Series Navigator contains all images of a patient that are currently loaded. The currently displayed images are highlighted in blue. If you need to replace or add images to the viewing area, drag and drop them or use the right mouse button. Specific layouts are available for each workflow. However, you can change them or add new ones in the Layout Gallery. By default, the functions for Zoom and Pan, for scrolling and windowing are active. Move the mouse pointer to the outer area of an image and Zoom your image. Move it to the central area and Zoom. Use the scroll wheel or click and drag the mouse pointer up and down to scroll through the images, or press it and move up and down for windowing. Double-click for a display in full screen. Move the mouse pointer to the corner of the image segment to find tools and features for evaluation in the corner menus. Click to activate it. Click again or use the ESC key to disable it. Right-click a segment to open the context menu with a list of routine functions. If you want to add a routine function to the context menu, move the mouse pointer to the respective entry in the corner menu, right-click and select Send to Context Menu. The Image Text button gives you the opportunity to choose from the Default Text, Custom Text or Hide Text completely. To show or hide the graphics, simply click the Hide Graphics icon or press the G key. To hide the reference lines, either click the Hide Lines icon or press the H key.
