syngo.via® CT Cardiac Function syngo.via CT Cardiac Function is designed to aid in the diagnostic evaluation of cardiac CT angiography (CTA) multi-phase volume data sets, specifically in the assessment of the right and left ventricles for cardiomyopa-thy. 1. From the Patient Worklist, load an appropriate data set into the CT Cardiac Function Workflow: • If the examination has been correctly mapped, double click to load • If manual mapping is required, right-click the examination and select Open With > CT Cardiac Function 2. Use the Phase Navigator to review different phases in a multi-phase car- 80% 256 * 256 diac data set. Select a phase directly from the list, use the mouse (scroll 10% 256 * 256 wheel + ALT, or drag left/right + RMB) or up/down arrows to step through 20% 256 * 256 35% 256 * 256 consecutive phases. The cine mode will automatically navigate through 45% 256 * 256 50% 256 * 256 all available cardiac phases. In the Case Navigator, Initialize enable the Initialize Manually icon. Using the provided graphic as a guide, click to Manually identify two LV base points and the LV apex point. To better assess myocardial movement or the function of the aortic and mitral valves, MPR views can be aligned with the cardiac or valve planes. • In the Case Navigator, enable the Cardiac Planes icon. Functional analysis of the left ventricle (LV) – including ejection fraction, stroke volume, and wall mo- tion - can be accomplished through either the Standard Mode or the Blood Volume Mode  The default Standard Mode calculates the LV volume within the red contour to include the papillary muscles and also uses a straight mitral valve plane.  The Blood Volume Mode calculates the LV volume indicated by the pink over- lay to exclude the papillary muscles and includes the aortic outflow tract by using an anatomically modeled valve plane.  On the Left Ventricular Analysis step, enable the Blood Volume Mode icon. • The LV Blood Volume can be edited to include or exclude more or less blood pool using the Blood Pool Threshold mini tool bar Blood Pool Threshold SHU -100 400 242 HU Unrestricted 0 Published by Siemens Healthcare GmbH © Siemens Healthcare GmbH, 2020 SIEMENS Master Template Effective Date: 3/5/2020 | HOOD05162003074494 Job Aid Effective Date: 4/28/2017| HOOD05162002591125 Healthineers Page 3 of 6 Job Aid | syngo.via CT Cardiac Function Effective Date: 4/28/2017| HOOD05162002591125 6.
