Atellica® Process Manager User Cases-Reagent Efficiency and Sample Hemolysis Reports Job Aid

This job aid will give detailed descriptions and instructions on how to utilize the Reagent Efficiency and Sample Hemolysis reports.

Atellica® Process Manager User Cases-Reagent Efficiency and Sample Hemolysis Reports Reagent Efficiency Report The Reagent Efficiency report displays metrics on reagent use. Reagent efficiency is defined as the percentage of total tests that are reportable. The data enables laboratories to understand overall efficiency, compare efficiency between tests and assess test utilization. The Reagent Efficiency report provides data needed to manage reagent utilization in the laboratory and minimize waste. It shows the number of reportable tests that are generated out of the total number of all tests that are run, including Repeats, Quality Control, Calibrators, and reagent that has expired on-board (Expired On-System). These metrics can be displayed for the entire lab/network, or filtering can be applied for a specific instrument or reagent. System ALIVIA Cantaur XPT(_@ 22. This data could be to improve the management of expiration dates and ensure that reagents are used before they expire Practice: 1. Locate the overall Efficiency percentage for the lab at the bottom left of the report 2. Using the Reagent Efficiency by Test Name/System graph in the bottom right, change the X-axis to System to show the Reagent Efficiency by System. Find the systems with the lowest reagent efficiency 3. Click the bar for one of the analyzers with low reagent efficiency and then confirm the selection using the green checkmark. The entire report will now be filtered for that analyzer 4. Review the Reagent Usage graph in the top right to see the usage for calibrator, repeats, expired, and quality control of the selected analyzer 5. Try clearing the System filter so that once again all analyzers display on the report. Now review the efficiency of a specific month by clicking on the Month filter and selecting a specific month. See if you can identify any patterns that might be contributing to reagent waste and therefore increasing laboratory costs Note: Reagent efficiency will be higher for ADVIA Chemistry XPT, ADVIA Centaur XPT and Dimension systems when you select a time period that includes linearity studies These systems categorize linearity studies as patient tests. This increases the efficiency depending on the volume of samples analyzed and the time period selected. Sample Hemolysis Report The Sample Hemolysis report shows hemolysis information for samples that have HIL integrity checks performed. Compare hemolysis index values, look at trends over time, and note any issues that are related to sample collection locations. This information enables the laboratory to understand any common patterns that may be affecting sample quality. This might be due to how the samples are drawn or handled at this location ➢ Assess how many samples are being completed on samples with various levels of hemolysis ➢ Audit hemolyzed samples for proper management and/or documentation Practice: 1. Look at the Hemolysis Result Distribution graph in the bottom left to see the pattern of hemolysis values.
